Thunder loudly rumbled outside as Ned and Reese laid together on the leather couch in Ned's living room. It was late at night and Reese's arms were wrapped around Ned tightly as Ned tried to focus on the movie instead of the roaring thunder outside. Reese whispered in Ned's ear telling him that he was safe inside the house and with him but in Ned's head thoughts of the house getting struck by lightning or a tree crushing them trapped him in fear.

"Just focus on the movie." Reese told Ned as the glow of the tv was playing, it was a Marvel movie, which Ned hated, but he watched knowing it was a good distraction and that Reese would be happy that he was paying attention to his interests.

"I am trying." Ned said in a quiet voice, as he stared into the tv. He steadied his breathing as the rain on the roof calmed down and the thunder roared. Ned closed his eyes and listened to the movie as he slowly started to fall asleep.

"You're safe here with me" Reese told him as Ned slowly drifted to sleep.

When Ned woke up the TV was off and Reese was gone. It was morning now and the sky was a deep gray. Ned sat up and rubbed his eyes. He dragged himself upstairs and into his room where he got changed out of the clothes he wore the night before and put on pajamas. He checked the time and saw it was only eight in the morning, he and Reese had agreed to go to a picnic later that day and so Ned slowly got ready as he ate cereal, brushed his teeth, and once again got changed. By then it was already 8:40 am. So Ned flipped on the TV and started to watch. Sooner or later Ned received a text from Reese.

Reese:

Good morning!

Ned:

Good morning, even though it is quite drowsy out from that

awful storm last night.

Reese:

It wasn't that awful, you were just scared.

Ned:

Whatever, are you excited for today's picnic?

Reese:

Yes I believe I have planned it out quite perfectly

Ned:

Knowing you, it will be perfect.

Ned set his phone down and watched the TV. He watched a design show and after two episodes (each episode being an hour long) the doorbell rang. Ned turned off the TV and walked to the door to see Reese waiting.
