After ensuring that she wouldn't be disturbed, Fang Yuxi retrieved a new mat from the space and laid it down. She then unfolded a thin quilt, grumbling about the hardness of the earthen pit before settling down for the night.

The next morning, Fang Yuxi woke up feeling sore all over. She glanced at the hard earthen kang beneath her and let out a sigh. She had grown accustomed to a life of comfort, and the stark contrast with her current situation was undeniable. The earthen pit was no match for the softness of a luxurious bed. If circumstances allowed, she would have eagerly retrieved those plush beds from her hidden space.

Fang Yuxi, still in the groggy state of just waking up, looked adorable with her disheveled hair. She sat on the bed, hugging the quilt to herself as she stared into space for a moment.

"It's been a while since I've had such a leisurely morning," Fang Yuxi remarked as she fully awakened, stretching out comfortably. It had been a long time since she had slept so soundly, likely because the weight of depression no longer burdened her heart.

Fang Yuxi smiled and shook her head. If she had to do it again, she would not trap herself in the boundless resentment anymore. She would enjoy life!

Fang Yuxi picked through the box, found some unpatched clothes and put them on before sighing. Life was really sad these days. Even though her father was frugal and saved almost everything for her, her life was still only relatively easier compared to other children in the village.

These clothes were worn and washed countless times, their fabric turned white with age. Among them, only one piece remained unpatched. Despite having a treasure trove within her, Fang Yuxi couldn't reveal her wealth openly. If she wanted to use these items openly, she knew she would have to work hard like everyone else.

After stepping out into the yard, Fang Yuxi relished the crisp morning air, tinged with the scent of grass and earth. Taking a deep breath, she felt invigorated and began to jump around, indulging in a bit of morning gymnastics. She adored these moments in the morning; the air held a quality that she couldn't quite describe, but it reminded her of the indescribable freshness she had experienced in her previous life.

After exercising a bit, brushing her teeth and washing her face, Fang Yuxi didn't want to cook breakfast. She hadn't cooked much for several years. The meals on weekdays were cooked by the nanny or at the hotel outside. More importantly, she has forgotten how to use this earthen stove. It may take some time to pick up the cooking skills again.

But it was not a problem for her not to cook, so she took out a lot of breakfast directly from the space, a portion of fresh shrimp rice rolls, a basket of crab meat dumplings, an egg, a stack of egg pancakes, and two small plates of pickles. It made people drool. If it weren't for the surrounding environment, looking at these breakfasts in front of her, she would really think that she was still eating at a luxurious dining table in the big villa of her previous family.

After shaking her head, Fang Yuxi sat down and ate slowly. This was an ordinary breakfast in her previous life, but now it is a very grand breakfast. Fang Yuxi couldn't help but wonder if it was influenced by her surroundings, but regardless, she found that everything tasted more delicious. Each bite seemed to be infused with an extra layer of flavor, making the experience all the more enjoyable.

What left Fang Yuxi feeling embarrassed was her youthful appetite. In her past life, she had often endured hunger and struggled to consume enough food, causing her stomach to shrink. Now, despite being young, her appetite couldn't compare to when she was eighty years old, where half the table would be filled with food but not even half of it would be eaten.

However, Fang Yuxi didn't have much time to worry about this. She took the remaining food back into the space, wiped her mouth, locked the door, and headed towards the village.

Although she doesn't want to get along with the villagers of Dongsheng Village at all, Fang Yuxi recognized the constraints imposed by the times. Everything was collective—land, food, work. If she chose to isolate herself, would draw unwanted attention and suspicion. even though she wouldn't go hungry, the villagers would undoubtedly notice something amiss. Therefore, she must go to work and find a job that can support her.

Fang Yuxi's tile-roofed house nestled at the foot of the mountain, on the outskirts of the village. Closest to her home was He Youwei's residence, prompting Fang Yuxi to weigh her options carefully.

Due to He Youwei's frequent hunting trips in the mountains, he could enjoy braised pork without drawing suspicion, as it would blend in with the collective meals. However, any consumption of meat, even in small amounts, would not go unnoticed in the village.

Fang Yuxi came out of home and didn't meet many people along the way. She knew that the villagers went out to work at dawn, she was already up late. Although she didn't like the villagers of Dongsheng Village very much, she had to say, people at this time are really hardworking.

Fang Yuxi came to the field alone. Almost everyone in the village was working in the field. Everyone was sweating and working enthusiastically, as if they were exerting endless effort. Fang Yuxi couldn't help but marvel at the simplicity of their lives in this moment.

Fang Yuxi looked around, asked a person next to her, and soon found the village chief who was working in the fields.

"Uncle Jianguo, I have something to ask you!" Fang Yuxi stood on the edge of the field and shouted loudly after finding Liu Jianguo.

When Liu Jianguo heard the call for his business, he grabbed the towel hanging around his neck and wiped the sweat from his face, then squinted his eyes and looked up.

"Girl Xi! Why are you here? Why don't you rest for two more days?"
