"Life happens as you perceive it; if you choose to view the mask as a mask, then you're never truly yourself."

Zacks POV

I sighed in disbelief at the ridiculous deal I had just made, but Mr.Nell seemed totally oblivious to this. As a matter of fact, his face lit up like a lightbulb, and it annoyed me to no end.

"Well, thank goodness!" He let out an exaggerated sigh of relief and pretended to wipe sweat off his eyebrows.. I think it was supposed to make me laugh, but all I can think about is how much of my time he's wasting.

"You're such a great student. Thank you so much! You don't realize how much this means to me!" He strained so much to emphasize just how TrUlY eCsTaTiC he was that I'm gonna help him.

I threw on the worst smile I've worn all year, "of course! Unfortunately I have a class I should get to.."

Thank God he took the hint because he finally sent me off on my way out the door. "Uh.. your fingerprint is already added to the door sensor, and you should be going to dorm number 23!" He shouted as I walked away

I said the last thing I'd hopefully ever have to say to our excuse of a principal, "thank you, Mr. Nell!"

And that was it. Now, all I had to do was return to normal schedule, but with one extra chore. I have to put up with my least favorite person in the whole world: Kaleb Ashford. And not only that, but I have to fix him. I have to stop making him the schools biggest problem. And for that, no amount of my pretend kindness is ever gonna do that.. I'm gonna need to force him into shape with my real personality. Oh, this is going to be fun. Never mind. No, it wasn't.

Time Skip

I had tried my hardest to forget about having to move in with Kaleb all day, but it was still dragging me down. I wasn't as friendly as usual, I couldn't focus in classes. It was so godamn annoying. And for what?? Now school is over and all that worry suddenly dissapears like what the hell?? I scowled at myself.

Students were flooding the halls, even more pouring in and I tried my best to squeeze myself through the frenzy of teenagers.

Finally, I reached one of the large dorm buildings where they had dorms 1-50.

Unfortunately, against my will I couldn't seem to un-remember and relive every detail our damn principal said to me just this morning.

Dorm number 23.

I searched through the halls going by dorm number, eventually climbing a fight of stairs and reaching dorm 22. I looked ahead one door and saw on a nameplate above it the numbers "23"

I sighed, shook my head at myself for agreeing to this, and walked over to the door.

There was nothing special about this door, just a door. which in some weird way I almost expected it to look different, maybe some skulls on sticks planted outside of the door, or a big "DO NOT ENTER" sign nailed to the wall. Seems like something Kaleb would do.

Finally, I placed my pointer finger onto a fingerprint reader which then unlocked the door for me.

I walked inside.
