..................

IT WAS THE DAY THAT PENELOPE AND GABRIEL HATE. It was the day people came in to take the SAT, the Eagles' physical test, and the Ravens' computer test. There was only one spot on the Eagles and plenty on the Ravens.

Louis had explicitly asked the siblings not to do anything that would make the teenagers' parents reconsider The Greenhouse. But the Button siblings were smoking a cigarette outside the building's entrance.

"Don't come," Penelope told one girl, but the girl scrunched her nose up in disgust before walking into the building with her mom. "I warned her," the brunette said, turning towards her brother.

"They just never listen," Gabriel noted, putting out his cigarette out and throwing it in the trash, and Penelope did the same.

Penelope noticed a boy with fluffy hair and a girl with hair like hers walk into the building. The siblings walked in after the previous people had walked in.

"Responsibility is the price of greatness!" the girl mocked, looking at the school motto on the trophy case.

"Shh! Everyone can hear you", the boy told his sister quietly.

The Button siblings walk past them, "Being smart is the price for greatness; we're not responsible", she said, and the boy slapped his sister's shoulder lightly as an 'I told you so'.

"Oh, what are they gonna do? Arrest me for disrespecting the regime?" the girl asked, looking to where the siblings had walked to. "I think they're the school's stoners, " she added, whispering to her brother.

The boy didn't find his sister funny but didn't want to assume anything about anybody. "Yeah, very funny", he noted sarcastically.

Penelope turned her head towards Seth, who had chest-bumped Jackson, another Eagles member, and she just scoffed.

The girl remarked, "This school takes competition a little bit too seriously." The siblings noticed that the boy had seen Daniel Hayward.

"This is gonna be fun to watch", Gabriel said, his lips curling up to a smirk. Penelope sighed; she hated Daniel ever since he cheated on her with Brooke, who he is dating now.

The boy was now walking up to Daniel, and Penelope mentally face-palmed. "He's gonna be eaten alive", she muttered, and Gabriel nodded in agreement. She observed that the boy was pale and couldn't move, and Daniel had a stance that he was teasing or psyching him out.

Gabriel knew what she was thinking, "No", he said, and Penelope looked confused. "You're gonna go over there and meddle", he explained, and Penelope frowned, but she still dragged Gabriel over to Daniel, Parker and the boy.

"Why don't you just fuck off, Daniel?" Penelope asked rhetorically, narrowing his eyes towards the boy.

The boy was no longer focused on Daniel; his eyes were locked on Gabriel. "You're Gabriel Button," the boy stated.

Gabriel looked at Penelope, who shrugged, "What the fuck do you want?" he asked harshly, catching the boy off guard and his sister had walked up, and he audibly sighed.

"Anyway, Daniel, can you just stop psyching him out? This place makes leaders, and that is not very leader-like," Penelope mocked, and Gabriel looked down, a small smile on his face.
