I was standing still in the crowd, feeling the sun's heat bearing down on me. My shirt was wet with sweat, making me feel uncomfortable. It wasn't just the sun that had me feeling this way. I had just raced to the ceremony with Alex, and the rush hadn't left me yet. We had run through the campus, trying to get to the dormitory as fast as we could. And now, even though I wasn't doing anything, I was still feeling the adrenaline pumping through my veins.

Running to the dormitory didn't help that much. I was looking at the huge suitcase I failed to put in the dormitory. It was a shame that the receptionist hadn't allowed us to access our rooms.

I breathed out, giving a small gaze to Alex who was in the row next to mine. We both were at the end of our lines as we were the last ones to arrive at the ceremony.

"Isn't she kinda scary?" Alex inquired. He was looking at the principal who was giving her speech for twenty minutes straight.

I shifted my gaze to the principal. She was reading what was written on the top of the rostrum with her deep, gloomy voice. You could tell from her expression that she couldn't care less about this ceremony.

"It is just... she doesn't care," I replied, turning my gaze to Alex again. "But yeah, I can't say that she looks that much friendly,"

Alex looked at me with a silly face. "Not that much friendly?" he replied in a sarcastic tone. "If looks could kill, I'd be seriously injured by now!"

I couldn't help but chuckle as I heard Alex's response. His facial expressions weren't helping either. I knew that he was exaggerating a bit, but he did have a point. The principal of Orwell Academy wasn't exactly the friendliest person I have ever seen.

"And to conclude my speech, I will invite the student council president of this year, Noah Anderson,"

Upon the principal's words, there was a loud applause from the crowd. Most of the students clapped loudly, showing their support. But not everyone joined in. Some just stared, stared with nothing more than pure hate. And as for me, I was neither of them. I just couldn't know what to do as I heard the name that the principal uttered. I watched the boy who had stepped forward silently, feeling a mix of emotions.

"Anderson?" Alex asked. I could feel his questioning gaze even though I didn't take my eyes off the boy who was standing next to the principal.

"Isn't that the surname you gave to the receptionist when we were at the dormitory?" he asked. "Wait, this isn't what I am thinking, right?"

I couldn't help but smirk when I finally turned my face to Alex. "Well..."

"Oh no, here we go again,"

From Author: It was a really short chapter but I enjoyed writing it from Ray's perspective tbh. Hope you also enjoyed reading the story from the perspective of Ray :))

The person above is how Noah looks. The model of him is Jung Sin Woo from Solo Leveling.
