"look what you started." ollie shook his head as the pair both put their phones down. we sat in ollie's car, after going crazy golfing together. it felt good to spend time with him again, like we were kids again.

"whoops." i let out a small laugh.

"sorry to hear about you and knox." ollie said, changing the conversation. my smile immediately fell, alarming the boy. "sorry, i shouldn't have brought it up."

"it's fine." i sigh. me and knox started dating just before ollie left. we had taken a break once or twice sure, but we were pretty strong. but then college happened, and the distance was too much. we only saw each other once a month and it wasn't working. the break up was mutual, both deciding it was for the best. it was my call, but we knew it was for the better. so it ended on good terms, but it still stung a bit and was awkward between us. "i'm guessing he told you?"

"yeah." ollie nodded, smiling sympathetically. "we kept in touch a bit so i kind of know everything."

i let out a single laugh with my breath, trying to get emotional as i thought about it. it wasn't that i still loved him or anything, i didn't. but i was with him for more than two years and only broken up for a month and a half. the fact that ollie and him kept in contact stung as well, knowing that ollie didn't try to text me once in the past year. "i guess it's still a bit raw." i say, wiping my nose. "kind of scared to see him now. i still have a box full of his stuff that was at my place."

"i could take it to him if you like?" ollie offered.

"no," i shook my head. "that'd be too weird. plus it'll be good to see him."

"why would it be weird?" ollie asked, raising a brow and smirking at me. i shrugged, suddenly wondering why i did say that.

"i should see him." i stated again, nodding, choosing to ignore his question. i picked up my phone again, opening my instagram profile, "also should i be concerned that i think a load of your racing friends are stalking my profile."

i held up my phone to him, showing the likes from past and current teammates of ollie's. he cringed, scrunching his face, "ugh sorry. they clearly can't stalk for shit."

i let out a small chuckle, lowing my phone. "nah i consider myself happy to be on their radar, after all, yous are pretty famous apparently."

"on their radar? what does that mean?" ollie smirked at me, arching one of his eyebrows.

i smiled, shrugging. "you never know, wouldn't mind living in monaco in a few years."

"oh my god." ollie sighed, rolling his eyes once he realised what i was implying, i laughed jokingly.

"i'm joking." i reassured him. "i'm not a model so that's my chance gone."

"we're not all like that!" ollie defended him and his racing friends.

"sure." i rolled my eyes, not believing him. "so, you're telling me you've liked or dated a girl who's not a model or influencer?"

ollie nodded. i narrowed my eyes, smiling at him, "i mean since you went off to italy and became a heartthrob."

ollie smiled at me again, a different smile though which i couldn't place, nodding. he widened his eyes at me then, "you think i'm a heartthrob?"

my mouth hangs open as i realise what i walked into. i try to search for words that will somehow make this better but can't find any. "i never said that."

"eh, you did though." ollie said over me.

"can we go please? it's getting late. and i have school in the morning." i reasoned. ollie sighed shaking his head at me before turning himself around in his seat and starting the car.

me and ollie walked in comfortable silence towards my dorm room door, stopping once we reached it. "do you want to come in?" i asked slowly.

"uh, i should probably get going." ollie said, his face slightly wincing. "you have to get up early, right?"

"yeah." i nodded. "you're not going back to italy for another bit?"

"no, no." ollie answered quickly while shaking his head. "i'm staying with my grandparents for a bit. moms over aswell."

i found myself smiling, feeling relieved that there may be a chance to see him again, even if i never admitted it. i nodded, "okay, well maybe i'll see you around."

ollie's face fell at my words before quickly smiling back. "yeah i guess."

"night." i smiled awkwardly, reaching back and opening my dorm door. i nodded my head to him as he smiled back before walking into my room and closing the door behind me. i lay my back against the door, closing my head and taking a deep breath in, bringing my hands up to my face. why was that so awkward?

"have fun?" cora said, starling me. she was sat on the sofa, her legs up on the coffee table as she scrolled through her phone.

"you scared me." i stated, moving over and sitting down next to her.

"sorry." she smiled apologetically.

"but yes, it was fun. it was really nice to see him again but i don't know, the goodbye felt a bit odd. there was a few awkward moments throughout the day but i suppose that's normal after not seeing each other in years."

"like what?" cora asked, putting her phone down, suddenly invested in the conversation.

"i don't know." i shrugged. "talking about knox or anything about our friend group. i'd turn to look at him and he was just staring at me while zoning out."

cora let out a small laugh, shaking her head. she turned her head back to her phone.

"what?"

"me and luca used to be similar." cora hummed.

"what do you mean?" i tilted my head in confusion.

cora huffed, shaking her head. "nothing. don't worry about it."
