It was your first day at hexside and you were more excited than when you first learned how to do plant magic! Speaking of plant magic, that seemed to be your first class. You look down at your schedule to get a better grip at your classes

You were so happy you were tapping your foot at an alarming rate. Once you learned that you could take multi track studies at Hexside you immediately begged your parents to move you from Glandus to Hexside. You heard the bell ring and speed walked to the plants homeroom, excited to finally be embracing yourself.

Plants was so much harder than you expected. Apparently you had joined in the middle of a partner project but since nobody knew you nobody wanted to tell you what was going on. So you just sit at a table and stare out the glass walls of the greenhouse, waiting for it to be over. Suddenly you hear someone walk up behind you and you turn your head. You see a girl, about your height, and possibly your age standing there. She has pretty freckles with olive green eyes and dark hair with a pretty green streak through it, all tied up in braids that went to her about her chest. Her round glasses had a shiny gold rim to them as well. "Oh- I Uhmm... did you need anything?"

"Oh! No, well, sort of? Yes and no? I just wanted to ask if you wanted to be my partner for the project! You seem all alone and I am too haha, you're new right? I can show you the ropes a little maybe?" You stared at her for a bit before smiling warmly.

"Yes, I would love too! What did you say your name was?" 

"I'm Willow Park! It's a pleasure to meet you" she holds her hand out and you stand up and shake it

"I'm y/n l/n, and the pleasure is all mine" you give her your best smile, and you think that plants might not be so bad today after all.

Willow explains that the goal is to make an object or animal or something using at least 16 different kinds of plants to make it. She said she wanted to make a bee after her palisman but was only halfway through and was incredibly distracted by flyer derby so she was working really slowly. She said it would be much more preferable to have a partner, but nobody wanted to be with her since they always called her "half-a-witch Willow" because she wasn't the best at the abomination track. That made me a bit sad but even more motivated to do this project, to help her!

"I'm not too good at plant magic, so how about I get half the flowers and study them so I can have a better chance at growing them tonight, so you can focus on your flyer derby?" You offer. She smiles wide and nods. It makes your heart flutter slightly.

"That's a great plan, thank you so much!" You nod and return her smile. "Oh, and would you like to sit with me at lunch? You can meet my friends and hang out with me a bit more!" Your grin widens. She was offering you to lunch? And you get new friends? This might be one of the best first days ever!

"Of course. The honor would be all mine." Then the bell rings.

"Good. Then follow me! I can't wait for you to meet them! They'll love you." She grabs your wrist and leads you out to the cafeteria. She sits down next to four other kids and waves you over. You sit next to her.

"Guys, this is y/n! They're new here and they seem super nice so maybe they could join our little group?" A boy with dark skin and black hair with an undercut excitedly pumps a fist in the air.

"Heck yeah! A new member to the hexsquad!!" He seems young. Younger than the other people here. I look over to a blond haired boy whose face was decorated in scars. He just smiled shyly and did a little wave. He looked oddly familiar.

"Fine with me" a girl with lavender hair agreed, shrugging

"Whatever Amity says." Another girl with curly dark hair and a red beanie said, drinking some apple blood. Wait...

You turn to her.

"Are you human?" You ask without thinking first. Her ears were round with black circular earrings. Yep. Looked human to you.

"No I'm a grimwalker" she said sarcastically and the shy blonde boy shot her a look. It was so weird, you couldn't shake that sense of recognition from him. Where had you seen him before...

Suddenly, your eyes widened and you clapped a hand on your mouth.

"Y/n? What's wrong?" Willow asked, concerned.

Was that...?

"The golden guard?"
