How would one describe love?
I have heard many things about it. Some say it's difficult to maintain, some say it's worth going through all the troubles, and then there's people who say it doesn't exist. But yet I'm just some dude who can't stand wearing shoes, so I can't be talking here.
I sit on top a tree branch, my legs dangling as if I had no care in the world. My friend Antiskyrus sits below the tree, with some kind of clipboard.
"And how does that sound, Faker Vee?" He looks up towards me.
"I'm confused... you say that I need more.. whatever 'social interaction' is?"
"Precisely. When was the last time you've considered making a friend?"
Maybe the big man was right. I probably do need someone.
"I guess you're not wrong... but why would anyone want to be my friend? I'm about as expressive as a lump of clay."
"And that lump of clay can be used to make something quite stunning. You are just... not realizing the potential of this place. Where you are."
"...You really have an understanding of friendship, Anti. What do you do, read books all day and study every little detail?"
"...I'm specialized in executing viruses, not nerd material."
He seems a bit frustrated, as his pen runs out of ink.
"I know I just bought this crap yesterday... ah, forget it. I'll get some more. Have a good day, my little cocoon."He's presumably off to make sure... Skyrus doesn't destroy the world again, perhaps? What does he do with his life?
Now I'm left to go make use of the time I have. I haven't been very good at those sorts of things, so this could either be a walk in the park... or a walk right through hell itself.
I jump down from my little branch and decided to head to the coffee shop I usually go to during the mornings. All the friendly people are normally there, so I guess that's a place I could start at.
I end up finding StaticSky, who usually sits alone by themselves, presumably just to take in the smell of the place. They can't really eat or drink anything, so they don't order. They're not my friend or anything, kind of just checks up on me once in a while. Today seemed a bit... odd, however.
"Ah, hi Fakee. Anti nagging you with science nonsense again?"
"No, he's just telling me I need more.. 'social interaction'."
"Quite the nuisance, aren't they?""That is... the one thing I can actually agree with you on."
It doesn't really make sense half the time, although maybe I just don't understand them. They're very... strange.
"You going to go order anything, Veeks?"
"No, I don't feel like it... also I'm working on better managing my eating habits."
"Strange... you don't really go one day without at least asking for a cake pop."
Static fiddles with a singular clump of hair for a bit, twirling it around their fingers.
"I'm bored."
"Of course, you're always bored."
"No, literally. I am internally dying of boredom. I wanna do something today."
"Uh... perhaps we could have a... Sky's night out or something?"
"Who would we even invite, that's the question?"
...
"Siro?"
"Nah, she's too clumsy."
"Dupe?"
"Whom?"
"Never mind... guess it'll just be you and me then, dingus."
"Fine with me, Veeks. I don't really hang with you nowadays, so it'll be a nice... bonding moment, let's call it that."
I swore I almost saw them smile for a moment. Very strange, considering they're mostly nothing but a monotone mess.
It seemed almost creepy for me.
"Alright then... so I guess we'll just hang at my place?"
"Very delightful. Just don't get ahead of yourself, idiot."
Static pats me on the head and then calmly walks out of the store.
That was... very strange.
They don't even dare to lay a hand on me, to just pull something like THAT is.. very concerning.
Suppose we'll see what today has to offer.
[hi i gave this particular section a refreshener cause idk looking back at it this made me cringe ewewew i promise chapter 2 is way better than this]
