It's quite late at night, and I get no response.
No knocks on my door, not even an attempt at a callout.
Perhaps Static was joking after all, they wouldn't want to-
...
Oh. a knock.
I guess I spoke a little too soon.
"You could've at least bothered to reach out to me during the time, but with you being.. well, you, I'm not even surprised." They respond as I open the door.
"I'm nervous, ok? Jeez... so, what are we doing?"
"Uhm.. maybe watch some old 2000's media or something?"
"That's... the most normal thing you've thought of.. dang... anywho, I'll grab blankets and snacks... not like you can eat anything, that is."
I usually just grab Oreo's for the occasion but decided to settle on some classic popcorn instead. I plop it into the microwave while I go grab blankets.
I don't have a wide variety of blankets, usually just solid color ones made out of faux fur. Hopefully they don't mind that.
"Alright, did you pick something out already?"
"Uhm... dare I say it.. Salad Fingers?"
"Very odd choice, but... eh, what gives."
Things went good that night. I usually keep my distance just in case Static wanted some personal space, but this time was different. A little too different, actually. Sometimes I'd go to check the surroundings of my area and I'd find them staring at me. Usually only for a bit, before they shift their eyes back to the television screen.
There was quite of lot of silence, as they never said anything much, but it seems they enjoy the company.
I try to offer Static some popcorn, but with the realization that they can't consume food, I felt a bit weird. They took the popcorn anyways, as a trinket of friendship.
Static was quite pretty, I will give them that.
Their inhumanely long hair, the way they gaze at me, those eyes I could get lost in for hours, the laid-back personality, stuff like that.
Anti never told me to take crushes for granted as I might just jinx myself for nothing, but I couldn't care less anymore. He worries about me too much, anyways.
This was about what I wanted. What I need to do.
At around the 4-5 hour mark, it was already getting quite late, but.. I want to keep them around for longer.
I could just ask... I mean.. worse they could do is say no, right...?
"Hey, uhm.. just wondering-"
They look back at me with the usual expression.. maybe a hint of a smile, but I'm unsure.
"Could you.. possibly spend the night here.. with me... please?"
They gave me a look of slight amusement, before responding.
"Any special occasion, Eeks?
"No, just... I thought we could just have a sleepover, nothing more."
"Oh, silly little thing... alriiight, I'll stay."
I felt almost overjoyed at the new revelation. Perhaps it'll give me a bit more time to decide, that's for sure.
