Chapter Six

It had been a week since I had gotten drunk. Six days since I had seen Timothy and five days since I had got a text from an unknown number asking for their jumper back. I didn't know who they were or how they got my number but I deleted the message straight after getting it and promptly ran to my room to put on said jumper. I had become extra careful with it, so it wouldn't get dirty and I'd have to wash it. The smell was just too good. I was nearly considering going out and buying a bottle of the aftershave just to have the same smell.

I was now sitting in Chemistry, with Skye on my right-hand side. She had apologised profusely for giving me the punch and Jell-O shots that were laden with alcohol, not knowing that it was my first time drinking and definitely my last. We had gotten quite close in our Chemistry classes together and I was proud of myself for making friends, well, friend.
"Hey do you wanna get some lunch later?"
Skye's whispered question shook me out of my daze and I turned to face her.
"Eh ya sure. Where do you wanna go?" I replied.
Her face lit up after I told her my answer, as if she would have been really disappointed if I didn't go.
"Well there's this new Mexican place opened up just two blocks away if your in the mood for some Mexican?" she whispered at me while shimmying her hips. I giggled at the sight and nodded in agreement.
"Mexican sounds great."

After Chemistry class, Skye and I headed off to this Mexican place. As soon as she brought the topic up, I had suddenly been dying for some Mexican food so everything worked out great. We stopped off at the toilets, where I needed to pee and Skye needed to fix her already immaculate make-up, before making our way to 'Cantina Mejicana'.
It was only a five minute walk but by the time we got there I was starving.
The restaurant was a small building on the end of a busy street. The outside was a dark brown colour with 'Cantina Mejicana' written in yellow and red above the glass window. Red plastic chairs and yellow tables were littered outside.
As soon as we opened the door I could smell the chilli and Mexican spices. It smelled delicious.
The tables inside were covered in red checkered tablecloths. A candle was slowly burning in the middle of them and there was hot sauce at every table and a coriander plant. We grabbed a corner table and I opened the menu. It mainly consisted of burritos, enchiladas, tacos and fajitas. I decided on getting a burrito bowl. It's basically everything you have in a burrito just on a plate rather than inside a tortilla wrap.
We had been sitting at the table for five minutes when a waiter came round. He was around our age with tanned skin and twinkly eyes. His name tag read Javier, a very typical Spanish name.
"¡Buenas días mi lovely señoritas!" he exclaimed in a deep voice. A shiver ran down my spine as I heard it.
"¿En qué puedo ayudarle?" he asked. Skye turned to me in confusion and I immediately told her that he was asking us how he could help us. Basically he wanted to take our orders.
She told me that she wanted a chicken fajita and I wanted a burrito bowl.
"Queremos una fajita de pollo y un borrito bowl por favor," I said to the waiter and he beamed in response.
"Gracias," he replied and took our menus before winking at me. I stared at him in shock before turning to Skye. She squealed and clapped her hands, as if she was a child on Christmas morning.
"What?!" I asked her.
"Omg Alex, he is totally into you! Did you see that wink?! And since when can you speak Spanish??" she rushed out all in one breath.
I chuckled quietly and grinned at her.
"First, I've known Spanish my whole life. Both my grandparents are Spanish and my parents were born in Spain before they moved to America. I go to Spain every summer. Second, he was not checking me out! He was just being friendly," I finished in a huff.
She smirked at me in a knowing fashion before shrugging her shoulders.
"Whatever you say doll."

We finished our lunch half an hour later and paid the bill, to which I got the receipt back with Javier's number on it and a 'call me' written beside it. I didn't show it to Skye, knowing she would probably make a big deal out of it. We parted ways around a half an hour later and I headed home.
As soon as I got home, I turned on my iPad and opened up my Facebook app to see what was going on in the world.
A shrill ringtone distracted me from my endevears. A quick glance at my phone showed me it was my mum calling. How weird. She usually never called.
I ignored the phone and continued surfing the internet.
Less than a minute later, my phone started ringing again. Lord help me. I huffed in annoyance and quickly turned the phone onto Silent mode. Finally. Peace and quiet at last.
After fifteen minutes of online shopping and stalking people on Facebook, I shut the device down and switched on the TV. Pitch Perfect came on and I gently smiled before closing my eyes. I fell asleep to the sounds of Beca, Aubrey, Fat Amy and Chloe belting their hearts out on stage.
A sharp knock on the door shook me out of my sleep. I slowly sat up and rubbed my eyes, trying to wake myself up faster, before walking over to the door. I sleepily looked through the peephole and was instantly awake. What the hell was my mother doing here?!
Breathing deeply, I closed my eyes trying to calm myself.
'Come on Alex you can do this' I whispered to myself.
Yanking the door open, I plastered a smile on my face, so it appeared that I was pleased to see her.
"Alexandra, I'm so pleased that you finally answered me. I've been ringing you for the past three hours and have left you at least ten voicemails. You could have at least had the decency to answer me. It would have saved me the bother of driving all the way up here," she managed to huff out.
I sighed and faked a smile.
"So sorry mother. I promise that it won't happen again. To what do I owe the pleasure?" I asked and did a little courtsey.
She glared at me in the only way that mothers can.
"Well if you had actually answered any of my calls or listened to my voicemails, you would know what this is all abou-."
I cut her off, "Oh spare me the lecture please."
She huffed in annoyace. "Fine. Carlos was in a car accident. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery."
My face instantly paled and I felt myself falling before everything suddenly went black.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the extremely late update. This past month has been crazy busy and then my Wattpad account wouldn't let me log in for two weeks! Excuses I know but don't kill me!
Lots of love, magoo6
