"Hey Mallory, what can I get you?"

"How about a vanilla milkshake without whip cream, and three cherry's?"

I smiled and shook my head as I turned around and started grabbing the things needed to make the shake. Mallory, is one of my closets friends. And understands my struggling life style.

"I see you got another bill in from your landlord." She said as I handed her the shake.

"Why must you read through my things?" I asked grabbing the bill off the counter and sticking it in my back pocket.

"Better question, why do you just put your mail in front of people? Anyone could of easily read it, just like I did." She had a valid point.

"Your funny, anyway how was your vacation?" I asked. Mallory is always going on vacation to extravagant places during breaks from school. She just got back from Tokyo, yesterday.

"It was amazing. We went to all these amazing little shops, stayed at a hotel particularly in the middle of downtown. And they life style there is interesting. I almost said to hell with coming home, but then remembered you'd miss me to much." She laughed as she looking extremely happy to be back to tell me everything.

"I see that nothing's changed since I've been gone."

"Nope, sadly not. Oh wait, I just got another pass due bill, but you already knew that." I said trying not to be down about things.

"Yeah, I noticed. I hate seeing you struggle like you are. Why don't you think about letting that old apartment go and be my roommate? You know I have the extra room and your half of the rent will be half of what you are paying right now." Her offer seemed so sweet and she was right, she did have a lot of room in her high rise apartment.

"I don't know. You have so much going on and I'd just be in the way." I said in a low voice.

"Stella, your like a big sister to me. I want you to move in, it'll be fun. Look I'm not asking again. I'm telling you to let that place go and stay with me. At least for a few months. If you don't like it then you can move out. All I'm saying is let's try out being roommate for a few months." She sounded pushy, but I didn't see the harm in giving it a try.

"Fine, but I have to get back to work in order to pay off my pass due rent so I can."

"No need." She said as she jumped off the bar stool. "I'll pay off it all and you can just pay me back when you get it." She said as she gathered her bag from the back of the stool.

"Mallory, I can't let you do that for me. That's asking for to much." I said not trying to offend her.

"I got the money to do it. The sooner you can get out of there, the faster we can start being roommates. I'm going to go pay it off and then go down to the office in my building to get a renters agreement written up for you. I'll see you at your apartment at 6." She said as she walked out and left me to finish my shift.

At 5:30 p.m I clocked out of work and headed towards my apartment. I got into my old beat up 2002 mustang, that had a dint in the driver door, and was all different colors, missing the bumper, and a tail light. It wasn't much but hey it had four wheels and a motor that got me from point A to Point B. Not bad for $600 if you ask me.

Once I got to my apartment, I parked behind Mallory's bmw RX3. She bought it not to long ago. I walked up the four flights of stairs, due to the elevator being out for the past two years. Finally at my door I put my key in the dead bolt and then in the door nob, had to wiggle it a little to click over and unlock, like always.

I walked in to find Mallory already putting boxes together and getting bubble wrap ready for things. "Finally you're here. So I was thinking we could start in your living room, then the kitchen, and last your bedroom." She said pointing to each room as she named them off.

"Mal I really appreciate all that you have done for me." I said as I grabbed a few things off a near by table.

"Stel it's no problem. I'm glad I have friend like you." She said as she took the rings and started wrapping them. We talked all night as we packed up my tiny apartment. It took us about six hours, do to how little I've I had to pack away. Once we were done, we headed to her place and unpacked our vehicles.

Mallory had such an amazing place that looked out over Miami beach. I couldn't resist looking out of the huge glass windows. "So I want to go ahead and pay my first months rent and the security deposit. How much is it?" I asked as I sat down the last box which contained things I'll need right way, and grabbed out my purple playboy bunny wallet.

"It's $1,200 all together. Your monthly rent I put down as $700 which includes all bills."

"That's pretty cheap. I was paying $1,500 for my last place. My room here is about the size of what my entire apartment was." I said while giving her a cocked eyebrow as if I didn't believe her.

"It's low because I know that $700 is something that will be easy for you to pay and gives you some running around money to put back." She said as she walked over and put her left hand on my shoulder.

"Thanks Mal." I said as I handed her the cash. We hugged as we looked out of her huge living room windows.

"Well, I will let you get settled in. I have to go meet Jack at the bar." She said as she grabbed her purse and keys.

"Okay have a nice time." I waved and then grabbed a box and started unpacking the things that go into my bedroom.

We left behind unnecessary things so all I really had was things to go into my bedroom and pictures. And a few things that can go in her living area. Once I was done putting my things away I took a step back and took in how amazing my bedroom was. Big king sized bed, with with a wall that was pure glass looking over the ocean, and my huge walk in closet. It was so amazing and I couldn't believe how she could afford it.

As soon as you walked in to our place you enter through a small hallway with a coat closet, that took you to our kitchen and dining area, then our living room with a small hallway to the left that had my room and the guest bathroom, back in the living room of you looked from the hallway you saw her bedroom door and by the glass wall was the door to our balcony.

Once I was unpacked I headed down to the dumpster to put the boys away. On my way to go back up to our place I saw the sign to the pool. It was on the 7th floor as to us being on the 15th floor. So I took the elevator up to the 7th floor. Once I stepped out I saw to the left the workout lounge and strait in front of me was the hang out room, and to the left two doors that lead out side to the pool.

So I walked out the double doors and saw the bar. I grabbed a drink and sat next to the pool. Looking out to the city of Miami. Wondering what is to happen when it comes to me going out back on my own. I have to start looking for a better job soon. I can't live with Mallory forever.

I picked up my glass of Jack on the rocks and headed to the bar. I say my glass down and thanked the bartender. I headed back to the elevators and hit the button to the floor of our apartment. I unlocked the door and went to the bar and got on my laptop. I started searching for new jobs in the area and applied to the ones I felt where right for me.

As I logged off Mallory walked in. "Hey girl, what are you up to?" She said as she sat her shopping bags down on the, cherry wood, floors next to the bar.

"I was just applying to some jobs. Just trying to get better pay. I see you had fun." I said as I pushed the laptop away from me.

"Yeah, it was fun. I was thinking you should get dressed up and come out with me Jack tonight. He's bringing a long a friend of his. Maybe you can help make him not feel like a third wheel." She said as she picked her bags back up and headed to her room.

"Yeah I don't see why not." I replied accepting her invention.

"Great be ready by 10. The car will be here around 10:20." She said out of excitement as she walked in her room to start getting ready.
