Harry wandered Hogwarts' dark halls, hearing footsteps and voices. He went towards the sound, wanting to see the new first years he would have joined if he had survived. Of course, no one survives the killing curse. He turned down the hall and saw the group. "Trevor!" he heard a boy at the front yell as he approached the group, some snickers following as the boy apologized to Professor McGonagall. Harry went to the front of the group, looking at the new first years who were now waiting to be sorted.

A boy with bright blond hair—almost white—was staring right at him. Harry tilted his head and looked the boy over. He was in standard school robes, his hair slicked back and intense grey eyes looking straight into his ghostly green ones. They both went to say something, then stopped. Could this boy see him? He wondered. He followed him as the group went into the Great Hall to finally be sorted. After a bit of time, he saw the boy go up as Professor McGonagall called out; "Draco Malfoy!". Draco is a strong name, meaning dragon and the Malfoys are a powerful family. "Slytherin!" The sorting hat called out immediately, not even put on his head all the way. Draco seemed to grimace slightly but got up and begrudgingly went to the Slytherin table, sitting as far away from the others. The Malfoys were both well respected and well feared. They are said to have Voldemort living with them since Bellatrix Lestrange is his right hand and Narcissa's sister.

Harry traveled to the Slytherin table and sat by Draco. "Why are you following me?" Draco asked Harry, confirming his suspicions. "Because you can actually see me." He said, extending a hand to Draco. "I'm Harry." He smiles slightly. Draco looks at his hand then back at him. "Draco." He takes his hand, surprising both of them when Draco's hand didn't go through Harry's. "Whoa..." Harry said quietly, turning Draco's hand over. "So, Harry, how'd you die and why were you surprised that I can see you?" Draco inquired. "I died when I was an infant, I'm pretty sure it was because of that scary guy. Voldemort or whatever. He killed me and my parents. Other ghosts have told me I'm a special, unknown case—whatever that means—because I age how I would've if I was alive. They use a lot of words I don't quite know yet, like unfinished business and stuff. But a human, a living person, has never been able to see me." Harry explains.

"That's interesting? And really confusing." Draco says, looking around. "I probably look crazy then, don't I?" he asks Harry. "Probably. But this is so cool! I can finally have a friend my age!" Harry says excitedly. "You want to be my friend?" Draco asks, seeming perplexed. "Yeah! Can we be friends? Please?" Harry pleads with huge puppy dog eyes. "Sure, I'm not against it." The blond boy shrugs, making the ghost cheer as Draco starts eating.
