Many attended the funerals. What the family made from their personal mine had mostly gone into that. It was expected that Rosemary, Thyme, Amaryllis, and Snapdragon would attend, but Slime Boy was a little bit of a surprise.
"Hello. To what do I owe this unexpected pleasure?" Parsley asked.
"Do I need a reason to pay my respects? Look. I'm really sorry for your losses." Slime Boy said.
"I am too. I just wasn't expecting that to happen."
"So what happened anyway? All that they told us at school was that there was an accident, I couldn't even get Rosemary or Thyme to talk about it. Well, Thyme was to be expected, she doesn't talk much about anything that bothers her."
"Not here. All I can say right now is that we were ganged up on."
Shortly after that, Parsley saw Rosemary's mother and brother approach. "You have been hard to find lately. I don't question that you're going through a lot with all of this but it's important to ask you a few questions, with the how strangely Rosemary has been acting since the... incident, and how Sage has been nowhere to be seen in your friend group, we need to get to the bottom of this and ask you a few questions." Lavender said.
"Wait what? Sage has been acting like normal around me." Slime Boy said.
"Wouldn't be surprised if she's trying to use you for something." Parsley said, definitely revealing that she knew something to Lavender and Chicory.
"I guess this isn't really the time or place, but since we live close, you can contact us anytime you feel like talking about it." Chicory quickly added, pulling his mother away gently.
"What are you doing?" Lavender questioned her son.
"C'mon Mom, she's clearly grieving. We got our point across that we know it wasn't an accident and that we know she was avoiding us, she'll come to us when she's ready."
Lavender just looked at him skeptically, "If you say so."
"Besides, I think that boy is trying to make a move toward a confession."
"Uh-huh."
"Have you lost your appreciation for young love? Aren't you and Dad getting along?"
"I appreciate young love just fine."
"Yeah, yeah. She knows something, she'll tell us, don't worry."
"If you don't want to lose your policing services as a guardian, you'd better be right."

"So who's got your life on the first to die?" Beedde gleefully asked.
"No side betting, remember?" Basham replied.
"Oh c'mon. What's a little bet among old friends? Besides, this is our first game you know, we could just pretend we didn't know that rule."
"Not a chance. Also, I don't believe I was ever friends with you. I don't count my taking your offer as agreement with you on anything. Besides, you knew that contact with your modified blood would have changed us even if we hadn't agreed to the proposal."
"Speaking of, why didn't she ever join us here, she knew she could?"
"Minven wanted to keep her humanity, but I lost mine the moment you killed my family."
"Don't blame me for eh, 90% of that, it was their game that caused most of our problems. I will however hold myself 10% at fault."
"Maybe I can put it in the past, especially since none of your other flunkies made it here. Not even, what was her name?"
