(Sirius Black)
What a weird Snake
Sirius thought- a repeated notion whenever he saw the dark haired Witch that was the new addition to Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry. She had joined halfway through his 6th year and was placed in the notorious green and silver house that was Slytherin 🐍 *hiss hiss*.
Initially he had been surprised, the actual day she got here was a weekend so everyone was out of their robes wearing casual muggle attire.
She appeared into view as he sat with the rest of the Marauders on their signature spot under a strong oak tree. A feminine yellow dress flattered her delicate figure while a white rose was tucked in behind her ear. The glimpses he got of her from across the lawn, as she conversed with Lily Evans, portrayed her as an innocent, bubbly, girly, future Hufflepuff. This was all despite not being able to see her exact features- they were hidden under dark straight bangs covering most of her eyes. All in all he reasoned she was nothing to get worked up about.
How wrong he was.
Before her sorting at Lunch time he had repeatedly caught her with her face in a book- throughly immersed in the pages before moving on to one of many others at her side when she finished.
It appeared Lily Evans had instantly adopted the Witch and taken a liking to the girl- so despite reading she was being drawn into deep discussions with the red head and random Ravenclaw's who took an interest in what texts she was immersed in and telling Lily about.
It was at this point Sirius switched from seeing her as an unthreatening Hufflepuff to a sharp minded Ravenclaw.
The closer it got to her sorting the more students were taking an interest in the Witch and what she had to say- soughting her out to engage in conversation. He put this down to Evans's popularity paired with the girl being a new face and novelty for students to talk about in their mundane lives.
Sirius didn't know why he was watching her- quite frankly he was creeped out by his behavior and the whole thing put him on edge. A Witch had never caught his eye before and he had never had strong emotions for one either. It made him feel like he had become James!- who was increasingly getting on his nerves recently from years of adoration over a certain red head which had reached boiling point for the grey eyed wizard. This new girls mere presence had him subconsciously on guard the moment he caught sight of her. Bright and yellow like the sun itself but different.
His dog Animagus senses seeped through to his human self- making him more attune to energy and subtle shifts in mood. He was highly sensitive to changes in people like their mental and physical health as well as their nature- this girl however he couldn't get a read on.
Sirius's infatuation on finding her an enigma got drastically worse after she was introduced as Eleanor Fox at Lunch and placed in Slytherin House of all places. To say he was shocked at the outcome was an understatement, and he wasn't the only one- the whole Great Hall physically gasped and was a buzz with chatter and disbelief. Some Slytherins started laughing at the whole debacle and jeered in glee at how upset the other houses were.
