Miles and Niles were sitting together at the pond under a willow tree. Niles was reading a book while Miles was skipping stones in the lake. Miles sighed and looked at Niles.
"I'm bored, man." He said.
"I'm not" Niles replied, not even looking at Miles.
"You're such a nerd." Miles said, rolling his eyes. "Can you put down that book and do something fun with me?"
"Like what?" Asked Niles, finally looking up from his book.
"I don't know.. skip stones with me?"
"I don't know how to do that."
"I can teach you."
"I don't want to." Niles looked back into his book.
Miles groaned, and looked back at the pond. Then he saw something on the lake. "Hey, look! A swan!"
Niles looked up from his book. The swan glared at him. Niles hid his mouth with his book, gasping softly.
"What is it?" Asked Miles, raising an eyebrow. "You scared of a bird?"
"Yes, Miles. I'm scared of a bird." Said Niles, side eyeing his friend.
"You're such a pussy, Niles. What, you're scared it's gonna peck you to death?" Said Miles, laughing.
"God, you're annoying.." Niles mumbled under his breath. "..no, but, like... as beautiful as swans are, they can be aggressive too. And it gave me an ugly look!"
Miles rolled his eyes. "Whatever." He turned his eyes to the swan. "What are you looking at?! Scram!"
The swan suddenly started moving towards Miles.
"What the- OH SHIT-" Miles got up and started running around from the swan, who was chasing him around.
Niles just sat there and watched in fear, hiding his nose behind his book. The swan kept chasing Miles around, until it bit his ass. Niles had enough. He got up, went to the swan and held his book up, like he was about to hit the bird.
"LEAVE MY BOYFRIEND ALONE!!" He yelled, and the he tried hitting the swan with his book, but the bird got scared and ran away, back into the pond.
Miles was on the ground, holding his butt cheek in pain. "Oh.. thanks, Niles."
"You're welcome." Said Niles, kneeling down next to his friend.
"Wait... did you just say... 'my boyfriend'?" Asked Miles.
"Wha... oh- OH!" Niles' face turned so red that he looked like a tomato. He hid his blushing face behind his book. "I'm so sorry... I-it just slipped out! I didn't mean-"
"It's okay." Said Miles, smiling at his friend. "I thought it was cute, actually." He whispered under his breath.
"What?"
"Huh?"
Silence. After a few seconds, they both burst out laughing. After they calmed down a bit, Niles started talking.
"..told you swans can be aggressive"
"Yeah," agreed Miles "guess they're not as gentle as they look."
"Guess you learned your lesson." Said Niles with a playful smile. He gave Miles a kiss on the cheek. Miles blushed.
"Let's go home and take a nap, I'm a little tired" said Niles.
"Y...yeah." Replied Miles, still a little flustered from the kiss from earlier.
Niles took Miles' hand, helping him get up, and then they started heading to Miles' house. (They decided to have a sleepover at his house that day)
"Do you need some ice for your ass cheek?" Asked Niles playfully.
"No i don't, shut up." Said Miles.
