Chapter 1

All around Asgard everyone was getting ready for the festival. Loki had returned and had taken a sworn oath to become a good guy. So far he was living up to it. Thor continued to keep an eye on him although he was swamped with preparations for the festival. He was also adamant about setting up a festival for his brother's return. But for now let's go to me. My name is Astrid Marie Eldarion. I'm a young S.H.I.E.L.D agent trying to keep my cover. Fury raised me and he treats me like a daughter. The one downside to being Fury's "daughter" is he watches you like a hawk. Even though I'm 21 he still doesn't trust me on my own.

Today is one of the rare days when I was left alone. My best friend Mia and I were going to the zoo. Yes, it sounds childish but in my opinion you can never be too old to go to the zoo. My favorite animals were the Pandas. I loved them with every fiber of my being. Mia and I waited by the entrance for our friends Timothy, Jason, and Romanov. The son of Stark, the son of Barton, and the daughter of Romanoff. Three of the best agents ever and I called their children my friends.

We were also known as the Howling Commandos. One of S.H.I.E.L.D's top teams. We had gone on 27 missions together. All of them were successful. We named ourselves after Cap's first team from the 1900's. For some reason it seemed cool to me. They were the best team of their time. There was a lot to live up to. After buying our tickets, we entered the zoo, and I grabbed Mia's hand. She grabbed Timothy's hand, and he grabbed Romanov's hand, and she grabbed Jason's hand. I then began to run, pulling them all along behind me.

I went straight to the Pandas without a second thought. When we got there, I hopped up and down like a child with too much sugar. A few parents glanced at me strangely but then shrugged and walked away with their children.

My friends saw and didn't have a care in the world because they knew my excitement when it comes to cute things. I was pretty sure I saw Jason give me the "you need to pipe down" look, so I did the exact opposite. He rolled his eyes and shook his head sadly. I asked Mia if we could get lunch because my stomach started growling.

"Yeah, I'm hungry too." She said.

We asked if Romanov was hungry. She looked at us like it should've been obvious and nodded. So we walked over to get food. After that we made our way to the car. I pulled out my keys, started the car and told the group that we were heading back to the tower because Fury had a mission for us.

They nodded. Mia hopped into the passenger seat, Romanov into the backseat, and I revved the engine. I smirked and Mia shook her head, although there was a smile on her face.

I zipped out of the parking lot and shot towards the highway. I knew we would eventually hit traffic, so I decided to take a "shortcut". With a few shifts in the gear I hopped over the guard rail and onto the grass.

I let out a cry of exhilaration and laughed. Mia pressed herself into the seat and looked like she wished she were somewhere else. After the crazy car ride, we realized that we forgot about the boys, so we drove back, picked them up and headed over to where we were told that mission would take place. I got a call from Fury.

"Should be heading near where you guys are right now so park your car in the parking lot," He said.

I had to get a new car because my last one had been blown up by the bad guy, which made my dad very mad so I got a black Jeep Rubicon and parked it in the parking lots and saw the villain there with a gun ready to shoot us.

"You and the guys take him from behind and I'll tackle him and grab the pistol from him," I whispered. "And if that doesn't work we'll just improvise. Fury said he wants this guy alive, so don't kill him. Just get him down."

Everyone nodded. We all silently climbed out of the Jeep. From there we silently blocked off the villain and threw on power locking cuffs. Threw him in the back of the Jeep and brought him to the tower and threw him into a cell which was watched closely by guards. I was disappointed that my trip to the Zoo had been cut short but it was how it went. I asked the group when we finished if they wanted to go and catch a movie.

"Sure, what's the movie?" They asked.

"I don't know we can pick it when we get there." I answered.

Unfortunately Fury had other plans for us. As we began to walk away a guard stepped in front of us and informed us that Fury wanted all of us in his office ASAP. I sighed because I knew what was next. Fury had been talking about a mission for ages and I was scared that it was finally going to happen. But I didn't want to assume it quite yet. I knew if I started assuming that what was going to happen I would be wrong and feel like a fool. I sighed and followed the guard through the halls. As soon as we entered his office Fury spent no time stalling.

"I'm disbanding the Howling Commandos." He said.

We all broke into choruses of complaints. Fury held up his hands for silence and we all obeyed. I wanted to yell and ask why but it was better to keep my mouth shut and listen.
