Y/N WOKE UP at 5am on september 1st and was too excited and nervous to go back to sleep. she got up, put on her clothes because she didn't  want to walk into the station in her wizard robes - she'd change on the train.

she checked her hogwarts list yet again to make sure she had everything she needed, saw that  o/n was shut safely in her cage and then paced the room, waiting for everyone else to get up.

two hours later, y/n and cedric's huge, heavy trunks had been loaded into the car.

"come on," said jessica. "we don't wanna keep the potters waiting!"

they reached king's cross at half past ten and when they got out of their car, they saw the potters waiting for them.

the potters had 2 children, harry and grace. harry is older by 1 year and he is also in y/n's year.

james potter had messy black and hazel eyes, worked as an auror at the ministry of magic,

lily potter had long ginger hair and green eyes. she worked at st. mungo's hospital in the spell damage department with her best friend, jessica diggory.

"sorry we are late," said jessica

"yea, it was cedric's fault" replied y/n

"shut up, no it wasn't," said cedric

"its alright, now who's excited to go to hogwarts?" asked james

"me!" said harry, y/n and cedric all at the same time.

"come one then lets go!"

"its packed with muggles of course, kids" said james annoyed. "platform 9 and three-quarters this way!"

"cedric you can go first since you have done it before," said james.

cedric marched towards platforms 9 and 10. harry watched, careful not to blink in case he missed it - but just as cedric reached the divide between the two platforms, a large crowd of tourists came swarming in front of him, and by the time the last rucksack had cleared away, cedric had vanished.

"mum, can't i go..." asked grace really wanting to go to Hogwarts.

"your not old enough at plus your going next year." replied lily.

"ok harry and y/n , you can both go at the same time and i recommend doing a bit of a run," said james giving them advice.

harry and y/n both pushed their trolleys round and stared at the barrier. it looked very solid.

they both started walking towards it. people jostled them on their way to platforms 9 and 10.

harry and y/n walked mor quickly. they were  going to smash right into that ticket box and then they'd be in trouble - leaning forward on both of their trolleys, they broke into a heavy run - the barrier was coming nearer and nearer - they wouldn't be able to stop - the trolleys were out of control - they were a foot away - they both closed their eyes, ready for the crash - it didn't come... they both kept running... they both opened their eyes.

a scarlet steam engine was waiting next to a platform packed with people. a sign overhead said hogwarts express, 11 o'clock.

harry looked behind him and saw a wrought-iron archway where the ticket box had been, with the words platform nine and three-quarters on it.
