1Rain. It was always a calming thing in nature that was fascinating. The heavier it got, the more prettier it was. The dark gloom it had over the sky is what made it prettier. Rain can mean a lot of things to many different people. Rain brings sadness and gloom to the air, most people hate rain. Although I never understood why, I always thought rain was beautiful.
"Persephone."
I turned my head that was facing the window to my teacher. A sigh left my lips as I stood up and grabbed my text book to read the words that were in it.
"You can read the first four lines please."
I read the words in the book with little amusement as loud as I could. I didn't like publicly reading in front of the class but my teacher likes to taunt me and make me read. It wasn't the first time nor was it going to be the last. As I read the few lines I needed to read, my last sentence came to a close as the bell rang signally that the class was over.
"Alright, that's the end of class. Homework is due Monday so I want to see those packets on my desk bright and early."
You could hear multiple groans coming from my classmates as I closed my textbook and slid it into my bag. My english teacher wasn't well liked due to how much work he would give us and how stern he was but it never bothered me, I just don't talk to him. Everyone seemed to usher out of the room as the halls filled but I didn't budge seemingly because I didn't like crowded areas.
"Persephone come here please."
I looked at the front of the room before grabbing my bag and slinging it over my shoulders before walking to his desk. A paper was the laid in front of me as a sigh left my lips.
"100. I'm not surprised."
I didn't usher a word from my lips before she handed me another paper.
"I want you to fill this out for me to become a tutor."
"A tutor?" I was a little confused on the matter. Why would I be a good tutor anyways? I barely even study.
"Four boys in my other English periods are failing and you are my top student above each class. The tutoring won't last long, two months I'm assuming is enough time before finals."
I was stunned. Too stunned to speak as my hand touched my now throbbing forehead. It wasn't like I didn't have the time to tutor, it was more like I didn't want to.
"With all due respect Mr. Millian, I'm not tutor material."
A smile formed on his lips before a slight chuckle was heard.
"You'll get extra credit."
I paused. I knew I had enough credits in this class to pass but extra? I wouldn't have to do work or homework for a while.
"How much extra credit." I whispered as I gripped the handle on my bag. It wasn't a bad idea and hopefully the boys I would be tutoring wouldn't give me a bad time so maybe I should at least consider it. Right?
"You won't have any homework or extra assignments and you may be exempt from test."
"Deal."
I picked up the pen on his desk and signed my name on the paper, consenting to the terms of the contract, it'll only be two months after school and on weekends. It wasn't such a bad idea. Maybe the best one if I get to graduate early.
"Good you can start tomorrow."
I nodded my head as he took the paper and slid it into his desk cabinet. "Good night." I said before leaving the classroom. A sigh left my lips as I picked up my phone to call my dad.

"Ugh dad, are you still at work?" I shot him a text before looking at the time. It was only 4pm and I had a lot of time to kill before he was home. "I could go grocery shopping, only that would take long." I groaned as I walked down the steps only to stop as a loud thud came from in front of me.
"Seriously you guys play too much!" A hysterical voice said as two boys started laughing. "It was just a joke lighten up." I slightly tilted my head at the scene. It wasn't odd for the boys in the school to play around but maybe this was too far seeing that it was a dent in the wall.
"You idiots put a dent in the wall." A stern yet cold voice was heard. It felt like winter just blew in the hall as a chill went up my spine. I should really be leaving but I don't know why I felt stuck.
"Relax no one is gonna notice." A smack was heard. A loud one. I felt a sting in the middle of my face and I realized one of the boys back hand landed on me. Silence arose as his hand was soon removed from my face before I rubbed my nose in slight pain.
"Oh damn, I'm sorry I didn't see you there." The dark haired boy said with a slight chuckle. I didn't understand why he was laughing but the boy with the icy voice let out a sigh before punching him in the back of his head. I couldn't react to the smack due to how it surprised me.
"I'm so sorry about my friend." The hysterical blonde boy said as I waived my left hand in the air. "Oh no it's fine." My mouth was slightly covered as I tried to walk away from the scene, only to feel a grip on my wrist. I paused for a second before turning around.
"You should go see the nurse." A tall dark blue haired boy. I wanted to free my wrist from his grasps on for it to get slightly tighter. "She's not here today, plus I'm fine." I could feel liquid seeping down my nose as I pulled my hand away from my mouth to see my now red stained hands. I was in shock to see a little smack like that made my nose bleed and it was getting bad.
"Come on we're taking you to the nurse." The blonde said as the group soon ushered me down the hall. Who were they? I'd never seen them before but then again I'm not a social person so I wouldn't know who they were. I did know that they were tall. Extremely! Like basketball players.
"I really am fine I promise." The nurses door swung open as I was pulled inside. "Here sit down." The blonde boy sat me on the bed and I dropped my bag on the floor, trying to contain the blood in my hands I just looked at the three of them. The tall icy voice boy was very intimidating with his dark red hair and cold eyes, the blonde boy was searching through the first aid kit while the boy would smacked me sat in the nurses chair, his face was slightly red but I couldn't really tell because his black hair was covering his face. The other boy with the dark blue hair who dragged me here was leaning on the wall by the door just staring. They all were.
"Here." The blonde boy sat on his knees in front of me and I slightly backed up. I dropped my hand from my nose as he had a qtip to clean the inside of my nose and I winced. "Sorry."
He soon grabbed some tissue to wipe the outside of my nose and I could've seriously did this myself. "I'm fine I really am, it was just a nose bleed." I said trying to assure the blonde as she cleaned my bloody hand with a wipe.
"Yeah you may be but my friend over there hurt you." He smiled warmly and I couldn't help but take his kindness. Once he was done cleaning my hand he threw away the materials he used before grabbing a pen flashlight.
"Can you tilt your head back for me." I blinked a couple of times before complying. He turned the flashlight on before looking at my nostrils. "You should be good now alright." I nodded my head once he turned the light off. Before I could even speak my phone rang which slightly startled me.
I soon picked it up without reading the contact name.
"Hello this is Persephone. Dad?! Oh you're outside? Wait I didn't change my shoes yet!" I scrambled to try and grab my bag as the blonde stood up and took a step back. "Ok dad, I'm coming I was just in the nurses office for a second. No I'm not with any boys!"
The dark blue haired boy chuckled as I looked as him before opening the door and putting my phone to my chest before mouthing 'thank you' to the blonde. "Alright alright I'm coming." I jogged to the locker room to change my shoes before running to the car to catch my dad.
