AN: My first story on Wattpad. Woo~ This story is, obviously, a Sabriel AU with bits and pieces of Destiel. The Destiel won't be added until a while later, I'm not quite sure when though. The point of view will switch between Sam and Gabriel for a while at first, with maybe one or two for Dean and also for Castiel. I'll add more information in author's notes to come. Enjoy the story lovelies~

I hear a chime signaling the door being opened.
"Yo Trickster. Take this one will ya?" I hear one of my workers ask and I walk over.
"Sure thing Balth" I say standing at the register. I look up and freeze when I see the people standing on the opposite side of the counter. One in particular catches my attention, the taller one.
I study his features for longer than a straight man should. I guess it's a good thing I'm not straight then. The man has shaggy, dark brown hair that goes down to his shoulders. I look him up and down, noting his choice of clothes. Brown boots, blue jeans, a plaid shirt, and a light brown jacket thrown over top. I study his facial features, strong jaw with just a hint of chub in his cheeks along with a slightly pointed nose.
I let my gaze trail up to his eyes, ever so slowly. Our eyes meet and I start to shake and my palms start to sweat. I'm not getting nervous just because a guy looked at me, am I?
"I..um...Hannah take over front counter"
I shout as I bolt out the back door. "I apologize for him. What would you gentlemen like to order?" I hear through the door.
What the hell was that? I'm the Trickster, not some lovestruck fourteen year old girl. Get your shit together and don't let it happen again. I take a deep breath. You can do this. I walk back inside as calmly as possible.
Looking around I spot Dean Winchester with the moose. Didn't Dean say his brother would be in town by now? Maybe that moose is Dean's baby brother. Or they're a couple. I cringe at the thought. Stop it, you don't even know if the moose is straight or not.
I stroll over to their table at a leisurely pace. "Heya Dean-o" I say casually as I arrive.
"Hey! We were just talking about how you were stripping my brother here with your eyes"
Dean says and my mouth falls open as I look to the moose to see a mortified expressions plastered on his face. I burst out laughing which gains me a strange look from the moose, causing me to laugh harder. I hunch over, one hand on the moose's shoulder as I regain my composure.
I straighten up and smile at Dean and the moose. "So what's your name, moose?"
I ask and he gives me the bitchiest of faces, making me grin. "My name is Sam" he says and I chuckle. "Well just call me Trickster"
I say with a smirk causing Dean to chuckle and say "I already told him your name" and I groan.
I glare at him and growl out "Must you always ruin my fun?" To which he nods. I roll my eyes looking to Sam "Just call me Trickster, okay?" I ask. He gives me a childish smile, adorable dimples and all, and says
"I think I'll stick with Gabe." I look at him wide eyed.
"Is that okay?" He asks, concern evident in his voice. I stare for a few moments, unable to break my 'trance'.
"Gabriel are you okay?" I hear and my eyes snap into focus.
I clear my throat and swallow thickly. "I haven't been called that since my mother" I whisper and he scoots over, pulling me to sit next to him. "What happened to her, if I may ask" Sam asks quietly and I look at him before I clear my throat again.
"Car crash" I say just loud enough for him to hear as I look at the table.
"I was fifteen and I kept trying to talk to her while she was driving" I take a deep breath as I recall the day so many years ago.
"I was trying to tell her about something stupid I saw on t.v. or whatever" I give a dismissive hand gesture and a sad, broken laugh.
My eyes well up with tears and I close them. "She looked at me for one moment and..." a sob stops me from continuing. I feel Sam wrap his arms around me and pull my body to his and I feel warm, safe almost.
"I was just an infant when someone came into my nursery to do who knows what" he whispers. "My mom tried to stop him" he continues once my sobs die down. "He shot her and set the house on fire with me, Dean, and dad inside."
I hug him back as he tells the story. "My dad went crazy trying to find the guy, moving us all across the states. Making us stay in motels our entire childhoods. It wasn't that much fun. Dean took care of me while my dad was gone for days or weeks at a time. Sometimes even months. " Sam says with a hint of malice in his voice.
"Oh Sam" I whisper as I bury my head in his chest. "John, he was" he pauses "he was a piece of shit father. Hell, when I was nine, I told him that I was scared of the thing in my closet and he gave me a .45! Who does that?!" He whisper yells.
We sit there in each other's embrace in a booth at The Novak Coffee Shop for what seems like hours.
"So I guess we're friends now, moose." I say quietly.
Sam nods "I guess so. Do you think I'll ever be able to call you, ya know?" He asks and I shrug. "Try it out. Hiya Sammy" I tell him and pull away from the hug just enough to look at him. "Hey Gabe" he says tentatively and I smile.
"Thanks for..ya know, listening and stuff.." I say and he smiles. "Anytime. You need me and I'll be there" he says with an infectious laugh.
"You want my number so I can tell you when I need you to save the day?" I ask playfully and he nods with a grin. He pulls out his phone and I grab it, entering my name as 'Gabe;)' before handing it back.
He laughs at what I put and types on his phone. My phone chimes and I give Sam a look saying "Was that you?" He just shrugs and stifles a laugh.
AN: Woot. 1,060 words in the first chapper. Lookit me go. c: I'll add bits and pieces to chapper two as the ideas come to me.
