Catching Feelings

Chapter 1

Introduction

My name is Kayla Wells and my mother is Claire's assistant. I'm 16 years old.

Chapter One
Today my mom has to watch over Claire's nephews and she's dragging me along with her. I wish she'll just let me be a normal child and sit up in my hotel room and watch Netflix but no, I have to help her take care of two boys. I walked out my room and went to my mom's room.

Me: Do I really have to go? I've been around this park so many times I'll pay for one of those stupid creatures to eat me.

Mom: Why would you say that?

Me: Because this place freaking sucks mom

Mom: Maybe if you go today it will be fun because you're going with kids your own age

Me: ugh

Mom: Now put on something decent. You don't want to look like a slob in front of boys.

Me: The only boys I want to impress are Harry Styles and Luke Hemmings and since you won't take me to their concert I won't ever look decent.

Mom: Just get dress

I walked in my room and looked in my closet. I put on a gray crop top and shorts. I put my long hair in a messy bun and then grabbed my phone. I walked by the front door and saw my mom waiting for me.

Mom: Is that the best you can dress?

Me: What you want me to wear a long skirt like you?

Mom: No... just something neater

Me: Can we just go?

She opened the door and I walked out crossing my arms.

Mom: I know you haven't been around boys in a while but please act polite and lady like.

Me: Why? You don't like how I act?

Mom: Look here they are

I looked up from my phone and saw two boys. One was playing on his phone while the other was looking at the dinosaur. We walked up to them.

Claire: Hello. These are my nephews Zach and Gary.

I looked down at my phone uninterested.

Mom: This is my daughter Kayla

Claire: You will be staying with them while I do some work.

Gary: wait! You're not staying with us

Claire: We'll meet up later

She left waving goodbye. I looked up at Zach and saw him staring at me.

Me: Take a picture it will last longer

Zach didn't say anything he just walked behind his brother. Gary was walking really fast and I barley could keep up. I was looking at the kids ride the dinosaurs and I noticed Zach and Gary whispering.

Me: what are you guys talking about

Gary: He was talking about ditching your mom.

I wanted to tell them to stay with her but I thought, if I lose the kids this time she won't make me go on a trip like this again.

Me: fine with me

Gary: You don't want to come with us

Me: no

Zach: got anything better to do

Me: not really

Gary: then come it will be fun

Gary grabbed my hand as he ran to the nearest attraction.
