"Bye guys! See you on Wednesday!" Valentina is out of breath but trying not to show it as she says goodbye to her students.
As soon as the last one is gone, she drops to the floor. "Puta madre.." She curses under her breath, wiping at her forehead. "I don't know why I'm so tired."
"Maybe because you've been dancing 24/7 for the past few weeks?" Luis suggests, his words dripping with sarcasm.
"Hm, you might be onto something."
He laughs. "Seriously though, Val, I hope you're taking care of yourself. Eating and sleeping and all that. I don't want you to burn out."
"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry." She waves off his concerns.
Sure, it's been hard to handle choreographing and teaching classes for the studio while simultaneously choreographing for J-Hope. But she made commitments to both of them, and she's not willing to break either one.
"What time is it?" She asks, closing her eyes for just a moment.
"4:30."
Her eyes pop open with alarm. "Shit, I'm gonna be late." She jumps up from the floor, grabbing her things. "Gotta go, but we'll work on that choreo in the morning, okay?"
Valentina leaves the studio so quickly that she doesn't even hear his response. She hurries home, changing into a fresh set of clothes that she's going to get all sweaty anyway. But at least she'll smell nice when she walks into HYBE.
Then she gets going, deciding that she will grab food on the way to practice with J-Hope.
As she's driving, she gets a call from her sister. She answers it, putting the phone on speaker.
"Hey, what's up?"
"Not much, how about you? How's working with J-Hope?"
"It's fun, really fun." At the mention of his name, her stomach does a little flip. It's been a few days since that strange feeling took over her and it's been happening more and more recently. However, she hasn't told anyone about it. "It's just, um..."
"What?"
"This weird thing has been happening when we're together. I'm comfortable around him, right? He's really cool, down to Earth. But sometimes, for some reason, I get really nervous when he's around. Especially when he comes really close to me. My heart starts beating reallyfast and I can't think straight. Isn't that weird?"
First, there's only silence at the other end of the line. But then Gisele starts laughing. Not just a normal laugh, the hysterical laugh she does when Valentina has just told a really good joke.
