Chapter 15

Maddie's POV

"I can't believe him." I angrily said.

I heard someone sigh and then Jada turned around and said, "Maddie, I know that this is hard on you but try and give your dad a chance. I'm sure he still loves your mum, but he's probably ready to date again."

I said nothing and rested my head against the door.

"Maddie stop giggling."

"But it's so funny. We've been hiding in in an obvious spot." I said.

"Shit." I heard my dad say.

"He's coming." Jasmine said.

You must be wondering what we're doing.

As soon as everyone was at my house I apologized to my dad for being rude and we sorted everything out and now like the immature people we are, we're playing the game sardines.

"God, I need to pee." Jada complained.

"Well fuck hold it up." Luke said.

"Shut up. He's-"

Jasmine didn't get to finish her sentence since Uncle Cal burst through the door looking fluster and frustrated.

"So that's where you guys were. Well I am one dumb fuck for not looking here first." he said.

"Mate I can't believe it took you that long." dad teased.

We left the closet we were in and then went straight to the screening room to watch a movie.

"Mads you won't mind if we watched Insidious right?" Jasmine asked me.

"That's my favorite movie!" I squealed with excitement.

Everyone looked at me with their jaws dropped. I've said this before I'm not anywhere close to a normal eight year old girl.

"Maddie you are one of a kind." Luke stated the obvious.

Dad put the movie on and we all got comfy on the large sofa in the room.

"Hey what are we watching?" a voice inquired.

Jada was back.

"Insidious." Calum told her. I watched as her facial expression changed to complete terror.

"What! You guys know I can't watch these things." she scolded us.

"Suck it up and be a man." dad simply told her.

She huffed and sat in between Luke's legs before the movie started.

I jumped as something popped out of nowhere on the screen. I love this movie.

The movie was almost finished and it's safe to say everyone was enjoying except for Jada whose head was cuddled into Luke's chest. We all could see her shaking. She was terrified.

I laughed as the main girl screamed no matter how bad it sounded, I find it funny when people are scared out of their minds.

Soon after the movie finished and I was still wide awake.

Nothing gets you feeling alive like a good horror.

"We should build a fort." Luke suggested.

"We should, I haven't built a fort for a long time." dad agreed.

It was settled, we were going to build the best fort ever. Dad went to the laundry room where all the sheets were stored while the rest of us found a ton of extra pillows around the house.
