⋆.˚Turkish Quandale Dingle POV ⋆.˚
It was a few hours before the craziest party of the year. I was getting dressed at Blue Tie's house. I figured out what to wear carefully, knowing that everyone, including Blue tie's exes, would be there trying to impress him, making me want to look even better.
"What colour? Red or black?" I asked Blue tie as he sat in front of me in his bedroom.
"Wear black so we can match." he smiled, I smiled back at him. I missed our relationship.
I ran off into the bathroom to get changed into my outfit. I adjusted the collar and smoothed out any wrinkles, ensuring every detail was perfect for the occasion.
As I stepped out, he was standing right in front of the door, almost to surprise me. "You look perfect, Turkish." he gasped. Our eyes met, and for a moment, time seemed to halt as if nothing mattered before or after this, as if everything was fake and he was real.
"Stop," I murmured, feeling a rush of warmth spreading across my cheeks as his compliment caught me off guard and I couldn't help but blush shyly. After all these years of being together he still knew how to make me nervous. His mom's car honked outside signalling us to hurry up and make our way.
"Well, your chariot awaits." he offered me his elbow to grab as we walked down the stairs, arms locked together. Separating the second we left the house, of course.
As his mom drove us to the party, excitement brewed inside me, this was going to be the party of the century. The venue was crazy with the vibrant energy of the whole neighborhood and our friendship group.
Hours passed. We danced and laughed, bumped and grinded. As the night went on, most of us started to get tired, but just when we thought we couldn't dance anymore.
The opening notes of "Carnival" by Kanye West filled the room.
Instantly, energy reignited through us.
"Go, Go Go Go!" We chanted. Blue tie, my boyfriend, taking front and center.
There were camera crews hired all around the hall, picking up moments from partygoers to post online. The beat dropped and we started swaying together. 'I just wanna rock' came on swiftly afterwards, as if they had saved my favourite songs for last. I would practice this dance all the time, this was my chance.
As the music filled the air, everyone came into a circle to dance. I was standing opposite my secret lover, I felt more playful than usual and wanted to impress him with my moves in front of everyone, something we'd usually do in private with no one else around. With each beat, I slapped my hips to the song, sticking my tongue out to tease him. I was eager to catch his eye and share the moment with everyone, forgetting the cameras were still rolling
The cameras captured cute glances shared between us. Amidst the chaos and the sweatiness of the party, it felt like it was just him and me, lost in our own world.
Oblivious to Blue Tie's hate towards him, White Shirt kept trying to engage him, jumping onto Blue Tie's shoulders and attempting to dance together. My boyfriend was not trying to reciprocate the attention, leaving White Shirt feeling ignored, I wish he wasn't so jealous sometimes.
The party wound down and the cameras ceased their recording.
"Make sure we look good in the videos, okay?"
I requested to the cameraman. With the night now quiet and the crowd dispersed, Blue Tie and I decided to take advantage of the emptiness by strolling hand in hand along the canal, gazing at the soft glow of the moon together, it felt surreal.
"Nice dance moves back there, I see what you were trying to do." he remarked playfully. I smirked , "Only to impress a special someone."
Suddenly, he stopped walking and gently pulled me closer by my hand. "You're so special to me, you know that?" he whispered, planting a sweet peck on my cheek, making me feel cherished and loved for the first time in a while.
"BLUE TIE!" A female voice bellowed from the distance. A sense of urgency rushed through us both, we released each others hands and assumed a nonchalant posture, hoping that no one saw what just happened.
Soon, Jada came running towards us, her attention focused on Blue Tie, diverting any suspicion away from our brief moment of intimacy.
Jada started approaching us cheerfully. I want to rip her stupid face off.
"Babe, do you wanna come over tonight? my parents are away." she suggested flirtatiously.
What the hell do you mean, "babe?" i thought.
The silence that followed was deafening as fuck, revealing the unspoken truth that Blue Tie hadn't even broken up with her yet. He looked like he was caught off guard by the invitation, giving me a look filled with regret.
"Sure babe, I'm just gonna walk Turkish home first." He responded
My heart sank, a wave of disappointment washing over me. Ignoring my silent hopes for him to be honest about his feelings, he prioritized Jada. Again. leaving me feeling let down. I hate him.
As she departed, leaving us alone by the canal, I looked down with my jaw clenched, refusing to make eye contact.
"Don't be like that, I just haven't had the time to end things baby. We won't do anything I swear."
Frustrated with myself for allowing the cycle to repeat, I mustered a forced smile.
"Have fun on your date, Blue tie"
I walked off hiding burning tears welling in my eyes. It wasn't right to be disappointed, I should've seen this coming.
