"YOUR MOM, LET ME IN," said Athena, walking past Billy and onto the chair in his room. "Stepmom," he reiterated, and Athena rolled her eyes, waving him off.

Billy closed his door, leaning on it and watching Athena make herself comfortable in his room.

"So, is my room our new meeting spot?" He asked with a raised brow.

"Would you prefer my room?" She asked him, but when she noticed the twinkle in his eyes, she quickly put it out. "Well, I wouldn't let you anywhere near my room even if I were on fire and you were the only one who could save me," she told him.

"I'm offended sunshine," he scoffed, holding his chest.

He pushed himself off the door and moved to sit on his bed. A basketball rolled out from under his bed, hitting Athena in the leg. She bent down to pick it up and examine it.

"I bet I could beat you in a game," Athena stated. He snorted, "What with a Hawkins cheer?" He mimicked her cheer. She threw the ball at him, giving him zero time to react, but he managed to catch it anyway.

Of course, he did.

"Jerk," she spat at him.

"Have you ever thought about joining the team? You've got a really good arm," he teased.

"Nancy broke up with Steve," Athena blurted out. Billy looked up at her, interested.

"Steve told me," she said.

"Huh, who would've thought Wheeler would break things off first?" Billy stated, putting his ball away.

"Surprised they got together in the first place; Steve always used to make fun of her, and now he's dating her—well, not anymore," Athena said more to herself.

"Er, Tommy and Carol told me they saw you with Harrington in the parking lot, after school," Billy said as though he didn't care or wasn't interested but was very keen on learning what the two had discussed.
