Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

Kenzie's P.O.V

"What do you want Kenzie? Why are you here?" Jamie asks, clearly perplexed.

"Look, Jamie. You know me. I'm straight forward. No lies and no sugar-coated words. I'm here to offer a deal." I say sternly, no hint of playfulness or doubt. I'm actually quite amazed with how strong and composed I sound right now. Considering how weak I have been for a long period time after the break up.

"What deal?"

"I want to have an association with your company."

"I still don't understand."

"I am launching a new collection of jewelries this summer. I'm willing to give out my designs and but them under your brand name. The income will be halfed and who knows if this works, we can have an incorporation!" I offer somewhat excitedly. He stares at me for solid one minute before sighing, a look of confusion still covering his features.

"Kenzie, I'm Jamie Wright. Brother of Jacob Wright, you're ex-fiancé. The guy you cheated on and broke his heart. Can't you see that?" He questions calmly, as if trying to teach a little child. It still stings to have someone other than myself reminding me of my horrible deeds. But I'm so done crying over the spilled milk. It's time to fix what's broken.

"What does this have to do with business?" I play dumb and he laughs, half heartedly.

"He's my brother! I can't do this to him. He pushed you out of his life. I can't force you back in any form or way. I know this is not about business to you. You want to have him back." He points out.

"So you're saying that you are not going to help me?"

"Yes, that's clearly what I am trying to say."

"How about I show you a little something and you tell me if you have changed or opinion or not afterwards?" I don't wait for his response. I quickly flash my mobile screen in his face and press play. I watch in wonder as his face changes from confusion to shock to guilt and to anger all in a span of several minutes. I admit, I've never felt so vile and despicable they way I feel now. But I was left with no choice. I've reached the point where I can literally do anything, and I mean anything to have the only guy I've ever cared about back in my life. Even if it's something as cheap as black mailing an innocent man. After all, All is fair in love and war.

"So?" I raise a challenging eyebrow.

"This is..... This is ridiculous!! You can't blackmail me! I'm going to sue you!" He barks angrily, his eyes wide like saucers.

"No you can't brother-in-law. You know why? Because the moment you decide talking this to the police or informing your brother about it, the video will immediately be sent to your wife. Trust me, you have no choice but to accept my offer. I don't want to say this but it's your marriage on the line here." I threaten him. He gulps and starts spacing in thoughts.

"This is.... not..... going to work."

"Well then, looks like I have some bad news for Jessica...."

"Wait!" He catches my wrist before I manage to leave my seat. I try to contain the smug smirk forming on my face.

"God damn it Kenzie! But yourself in my shoes! How do I bring you to business without looking suspicious to my brother! What guarantees that you will stop this silly black mailing thing after I manage to sign the deal?" He says exasperatedly, rubbing his forehead in a nervous manner.

"We can think about this. Let's meet tonight at some restaurant downtown and arrange everything. And about the video, I swear there will be no more blackmailing once you agree to help. Jamie.... I'm so desperate... This is my only chance. You can't say no to this! Not because I'm black mailing you, but because we were friends at some point. I'm not the one who has the upper hand here, but you're! I have your secret now and you have mine. Let's be one team and I promise you. It's for the best."
