Pov y/n:
As I strolled through the halls of the school I could feel my friends' gazes settling on me and then they came towards me "what was wrong with you yesterday? you seemed so horrified" Marinette asked me worriedly
"Nothing... I just forgot that I had a photo shoot and that's why my mother called me and was just as usual," I answered her dryly
"Okay. I knew it was your mother... and is the movie night scheduled for today?" Alya asked me
"Unfortunately I can't," I tried to avoid her and then went to class
And so the day ended and I avoided all of my friends except Adrien because we still had to pretend to be in a relationship
Two days have passed since that day. The guilt continued to gnaw at me as I tried to ignore the emptiness in my heart.
As I strolled through the halls of the school, I felt the eyes of my former friends on me. Marinette and Alya looked worried, but their looks were no longer one of support, but rather disappointment. I could literally feel the silence between us, an emptiness that enveloped and oppressed me. I tried to fill this void but without success but that's how it will look from now on until my mother is satisfied with my work as a model
I wanted to explain it to them, but my words got stuck in my throat. It wasn't until we met during the lunch break that Marinette finally broke the silence.
"Where have you been the last few days, y/n?" Marinette's voice sounded gentle, but also cold. I swallowed hard before answering.
"I had some things to do." I answered her, which was obviously a lie
"And what's wrong with you lately, you seem to be turning away from everyone?" She asked me then I felt bad lying to her
"I was just tired from all the work, that's all," I lied again
Alya frowned. "You haven't even replied to our messages. Is everything okay?"
A knot formed in my stomach. "Yes, everything is fine. I just had a lot on my mind the last few days and I probably won't find any time in the near future."
Marinette's eyes darkened and there was a biting irony in her voice. "Oh yes, everything is fine while you just let us down... Is this the thanks for being there for you and supporting you, or when we defended you against Chloe whenever she was mean and spoke condescendingly to you? y/n?" Her words hit me like a gust of ice-cold wind and I felt my heart clench.
Alya sighed heavily. "It's disappointing to see you distancing yourself from us. After all we've done for you, and now you're suddenly alone."
The words hit me like another blow, and I could feel the pain in their voices. I felt like a traitor, caught between my parents' expectations and the loss of my friends. I wish I could tell you about it but it wouldn't change anything
Before I could respond, Chloe entered the scene. "Well, well, well, what do we have here? Little y/n and her loyal followers," Chloe mocked with a wicked smile.
Marinette and Alya looked at Chloe with clear dislike while I tried to hide mine. But this time I wasn't willing to simply give in to the ridicule.
I lifted my chin and looked Chloe straight in the eyes. "And what do we have here? The self-proclaimed queen of meanness? I don't know what your problem is, Chloe, but that doesn't give you the right to boss around and belittle others."
Chloe laughed derisively. "Oh, please. As if your words could impress me in the slightest, y/n. You're nothing more than a ridiculous puppet who dances by her parents' rules. Oh sorry, I forgot, you only have your mother and she is all you have left. Just look around, you're all alone now. Nobody will help you. You're nothing but a pathetic figure in this game."
My fists clenched in anger. "You can insult me all you want, Chloe, but I won't let you attack my friends. They still stood by me more than anyone could ever by you"
Chloe's eyes flashed with anger. "You'll regret this, y/n. If you think you can stand up to me and get away with it, you're wrong."
Before I could react or say anything back, I felt an eerie presence settle over us, followed by a deafening scream.
A blinding flash lit up the sky, and before I could even react, I was seized by an eerie force and pulled into the darkness
Suddenly a strong gust of wind came over me and I was caught by an akuma, that appeared out of nowhere
A terrible pain shot through my head and before I could think clearly, everything around me went black and I could only hear the voices around me
As I found myself in the dark of the night, I heard a familiar voice behind me. "Poor girl, you seem to be in trouble." The voice was full of darkness and I knew immediately who it was.
Hawk Moth..... he was now in my head and it's my own fault my negative thoughts allowed him to get hold of me "I can help you, y/n. Let me give you my power and together we can and will destroy your enemies and mine too, you just have to let it happen."
I could hear Chloe's voice in the background... "I always knew she was weak, it was just the truth and as you can see she, she wanted it that way and if she is even stupider and as weak as I think she is, she will agree" said she, as always, with a mocking laugh
I tried to go against it and get him out of my head but my negativity wouldn't allow it and then I heard Adrien come into the room "Why are you just standing there? Help her!" After that I had no idea what was happening around me, I only heard hawkmoth...
