"Negative One"
"Hey Eleven."

Ellie's pov

Pacing around the room running a hand through my hair as I mumbled to myself. "Ellie your going to run a hole in the floor come sit down." I stopped and walked over to the table and sat down.

"So what's the plan than or can I go back to pacing?" I slouched in the chair as Max placed a hand on my shoulder. I let out a sigh and relaxed a little still on edge.

"Well what do you wanna do Mike?" I asked as he took off towards Will's room coming back with a paper. "The shadow monster—" Dustin spoke but was cut off by Mike. "It got will that day in the field. The doctor said it was like a virus it infected him." Mike explained looking at everyone while I rubbed my temples trying to sooth the headache I just got. "And so this virus it's connecting him to the tunnels?" Max asked.

"To the tunnels, monsters, the upside down, everything." Mike spoke as Steve stepped up looking just as equally stressed as I did. "Woah. Slow down. Slow down." Steve said now looking at the drawing Will made. "Okay, so the shadow monster's inside everything. And if the vines feel something like pain then so does Will." Mike explained finally dumbing it down.

"And so does dart." Lucas spoke up he looked like he was connecting the dots. "Yeah. Like what Mr.Clarke taught us. The hive mind." Mike said looking at Lucas. "Hive mind? Like a collective consciousness?" I asked finally speaking up as they turned and looked at me.

"What I paid attention in school sometimes." I shrugged as they went back to the topic at hand. "And this is the thing that controls everything. It's the brain." Mike said looking down at the picture. "Like the mind flayer." Dustin spoke as some of us looked confused.

"You mean that thing from the game my brother plays." No one answered me and Dustin disappear and came back with a dungeons and dragons manual. "The mind flayer." He spoke open the book to the page. "What the hell is that?" Hooper spoke from behind me.

"It's a monster from an unknown dimension. It's so ancient that it doesn't even know it's true home. It enslaves races of other dimensions by taking over their brains using its highly developed psionic powers." He explained as Hopper let out a loud scoff.

"Oh my god none of this is real. This is a kids game." I started to zone out constantly picking at the skin around my nails. Feeling someone shake me I look up to see Dustin. "They're questioning Will and he disguised the shack so he wouldn't know where he was. He's still in there he's speaking morse code." I nodded and went and stood by Steve as the translate the message.

"Close gate." I looked at the others confused. What gate were they talking about. All of a sudden the phone went off and everyone was scrambling to turn it off only for Nancy to tear it off the wall. The sound of monster off in the distance had everyone on edge. I stood in front of everyone with Nancy as my energy swirled along my hands.

As soon as the screeching stopped one of the dogs came crashing through the window. Raising my hand i shot the limp creature back out the window. The sound of the door creaking and locks unlocking we turned ready to attack but in stepped El.

"Negative?" Eleven asked unsure.

"Hey Eleven long time no see." I smiled.
