The morning sun filters through the curtains of their hotel room, Emma stirs from her slumber, the events of the previous night still fresh in her mind. Blinking away sleep, she glances around the room to find her friends slowly beginning to wake as well.
Ava yawns and stretches, her limbs sprawling across the bed as she grumbles about needing more sleep; "Ugh, I swear jet lag always hits me the hardest," she complains, rubbing her eyes. Mia nods in agreement, her voice thick with sleep. "Tell me about it. I feel like I could sleep for another ten hours." Mia rubs her eyes sleepily, her hair tousled from a night of tossing and turning.
Olivia the ever the optimist, sits up with a contented sigh. "Well, we can't waste the day in bed, can we? There's so much more of Puerto Rico to explore!", a smile playing on her lips as she greets the new day.
Emma swings her legs over the edge of the bed and stretches, feeling the stiffness of sleep slowly dissipate from her muscles, she can't help but feel a sense of anticipation for the day ahead. Emma smiles at her friends' varying degrees of wakefulness, feeling a surge of excitement for the day ahead.
"Olivia's right. Let's make the most of our time here. Who knows what adventures await us?" Despite the lingering fatigue from the late night, she's eager to explore more of Puerto Rico and perhaps even reconnect with Miko at the summer festival.
Ava shoots Emma a playful grin. "Speaking of adventures, what's the deal with you and that girl from the club last night? You seemed pretty chummy."
Emma blushes at the reminder of Miko. "Oh, she's just someone I met at the club. We exchanged numbers and she invited us to a summer festival later this week."
Mia raises an eyebrow with a knowing smirk. "Hmm, sounds like more than just a casual encounter to me."
Emma laughs, feeling a warmth spread through her cheeks. "Well, let's not jump to conclusions. We'll see what happens."
As they shuffle around the room, gathering their belongings and preparing for the day ahead, Emma's thoughts drift back to Miko. Despite her attempts to downplay their interaction as just a casual encounter, she can't deny the flutter of excitement in her stomach at the thought of seeing her again at the summer fest...
With a smile playing on her lips, Emma pulls out her phone and quickly scrolls through her messages, finding Miko's number and sending her a text. "Good morning, Miko! It's Emma from last night. Just wanted to say thanks again for the invite to the festival. Looking forward to it! 😊"
As she hits send, a sense of anticipation washes over her. She can't help but wonder if Miko will respond and if their connection will continue to grow stronger outside the confines of the club. Meanwhile, Ava, Mia, and Olivia are engaged in a lively discussion about their plans for the day. They debate between visiting a nearby beach, exploring a historic site, or simply wandering the streets of San Juan in search of something to come up.
"We could always do all three," Olivia suggests with a grin. "After all, we didn't come all this way to sit around in a hotel room." The idea sparks excitement among the group, and soon they're bustling around the room, gathering their sunscreen, hats, and cameras in preparation for the day's adventures.
As they finally make their way out of the hotel room and into the bright Puerto Rican sunshine, Emma's phone pings with a new message. With a quick glance, she sees that it's from Miko—a simple yet heartfelt reply that brings a smile to her face. "Good morning, Emma! I'm glad you're looking forward to the festival. Can't wait to see you there! 😊"
Emma: Me too! So, how's your morning going so far?
Miko: It's going well, just enjoying a quiet morning at home before heading out for the day. How about you?
