The familiar feeling over the cold breeze hitting my face brings back the memories of when I was younger, I used to come out here with my mother.

*flashback*

I remember mum and her horse Galileo galloping in the field as I sat under the lone apple tree out in the middle of the field. The branches shielding me from the burning sun. Galileo rises his hind legs into the air and I watch fascinated as mum laughs and pats Galileo's neck. Her long black locks much like mine shine in the sun and her green eyes bright as ever. I thought she looked like a princess. She turns around and leads the horse towards me, I jump and and run to her as fast as my 6 year old legs can carry me. "Mummy!" I screech in excitement, she laughs and grabs my hands pulling me and and setting me in front of her on Galileo, "let's head home honey." my mother says as she grabs onto Galileo's reins and gives him a small kick and he takes off into a trot towards home.

I smile at the memory, I miss her. Its been 8 years now, 8 years since the tumor took over, 8 years since she died.

"Make mumma proud." Were the last words she had said to me before she took her last dying breath. Since that day, I vowed that I would do exactly that, I will become the most famous horse rider this world has ever seen.

Being so lost in my thoughts I hadn't noticed Spots had stopped in front of an entrance of a field. As my eyes adjust to the scenery they widen as I see that it was the field my mother and I used to go to. I hadn't been here since she died, my eyes wondered over the field. Everything looked the same. My eyes travel over to the lone tree and I let out a gasp at the sight.

The tree itself looked the same but what was under the tree entranced me. I jet black black Rocky Mountain horse with a white main stood under the tree. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He was a wild mustang, I knew that much. Spots let out a loud whinny and the mustangs head whips up and his eyes circle in on us, or more specifically, me.

It felt as if the mustang was staring straight into my soul. The mustangs body that was tense and rigid just seconds before was now loosening as it stared at me.

Slowly, I unmount and tie spots against one of the nearby forest trees, she snorts and stamps her foot annoyed by being trapped.

"Sorry girl." I say softly before turning around back to the Mustang. I was surprised to see that he was already taking cautious steps towards me, slowly I done the same and within seconds I was standing within reach of him. Slowly I spread out arm and positioned my hand so that my palm was facing him. He step forward slowly once more and presses his muzzle against it letting out a small whinny in the back of his throat.

I relax slightly and step forward to get a little closer and softly stroke his head. He perks his head up at me as I made my way towards his neck.

To say I was surprised when I seen his eyes we're and understatement. His dark green orbs stared back at me in wonder and I smiled. Lifting his head over my shoulder he catches sight of spots and whinneys looking back at me.

"You wanna play, huh boy?" I say laughing, he snorts and presses his muzzle softly into my stomach pushing me towards the annoyed looking horse at the forest line.

I smile and begin to walk back towards spots, but I stop short as I hear an unfamiliar voice.

"Get away from my horse!" A man bellows as he emerges from the trees. I stand there shocked as my eyes zero in on the whip and the bottle of whiskey in his hands.

The mustang goes rigid and he bounds over to me pushing me to get to Spots further. She's trying to break free from her lead threatened by the man not anymore than 20 yards away. The mustang let's out a loud neigh towards me in a panicked state and I quickly mount up on Spots before taking off, but not without one last look towards the mustang whos body was back to rigid and tense as the man cones closer. Why wasn't he moving?

I take off back the way I came. I hear the man yelling and the sound of a cracking whip followed by the mustang letting out a pain filled neigh. Immediately I halt Spots. How dare he?! I stead Spots back around and we take off towards the field again.

Charging through the tree line I see the man crack a whip at the stallions rear and I see red. I dig my heals into Spots and she rears back before taking off into a full gallop towards the man. He doesn't have time to register what's going on in his drunken state before Spots rams into him sending him spiralling 5 feet away slipping into a state of unconsciousness.

Quickly I strap the mustang to Spots before pulling out my phone and dialling '111'

"111 what is your emergency?" The person on the receiving line speaks calmly.

"I was just passing by and I've found a man out here in a field unconscious, I've checked his pulse and he's still alive but he won't wake up." I lie as I soothingly pet the mustang calming him down.

"Whats the address honey we'll be there as soon as we can." The receiver then says.

"I'm not to sure." I lie once again.

"Well we've tracked your phone and know where you are. Well be there soon."

Without replying I end the call and shove my phone back into my pocket. Turning us around the 2 horses and I take off back the way we originally came, to Mountain Ridge Farm.

Hey guys! So hopefully this chapter is a little longer. So as I was writing this chapter I thought I would let you guys know that I am from New Zealand so some of the words that I will use aren't usually the ones that you guys use. For example let's say the '111' here in New Zealand that's the number we use in case of emergency and in other countries I know a lot of you guys use '911'. So just letting you know.
