Under a tree, staring up at the sky. Carl was hovering over Daryl's stuff while he wasn't there making me very curious to what he wanted. He put his hands on Daryl's motorcycle, pretending to start and rev it causing me roll my eyes. Since two nights ago with Maggie and Beth I haven't gone anywhere without this little cardboard-made notepad.

'What are you doing?' I write while he opens Daryl's bag at the back of his bike, he jumps when I clear my throat, thinking he was caught then sighed when he saw it was me.
"Go away," he goes back to the bag, closing it and looks on the other side. He froze so I looked over his shoulder to see a gun. I didn't have time to write anything as he pulls it out, with a gun in his hand I step back. I hate guns, not sure if I've said that. I shake my head sternly, my eyes widened in a warning 'threatening' way, Carl only glancing round him, like I wasn't right in front of him.

'I'm gonna tell your dad,' I rush pen to paper, switch to narrowed my eyes. I regret saying that instantly because it makes me seem like a baby and a snitch, I'm neither.
"Oh, yeah?" He smirks, he closes one eye holding up the gun infront'a him making a sound like he was shooting. His hand going in different directions then flying to my direction, I ducked down and turned my head away. I'm shorter than him so where it would be aimed at his chest, it's my head. Not for long because he kept jumping around like a bloody monkey. Did no one teach this boy gun safety?

"Carl!" I yelled out, he spun his head back to me and put the gun arm down, he blinks confused as I think that's the first time he'd heard me speak. He definitely thought I was, like, mute. I whine frustrated, stomp my feet up and down then stomping away with a frown.

"Hey, do you—" Lori tries to talk to me when I came through the front door but I'm not in the mood. Ignoring her and running up the stairs on all fours, it's just quicker. I open the door to Beth's room where she was making some kinda jewellery with plastic, colourful beads and Mia was colouring.

I stand by the door, waiting to be noticed before I walk in because they were busy and I don't wanna interrupt. Mia points at me with her colouring pencil,
"Hi," Beth smiled without showing her teeth, my typical smile. I come in standing at the end of her bed, leaning on the bed post, I look over at the multiple sheets of printed out paper with loads of images. Some detailed, some animated and lots of colours. Colouring pens and those ones you twist to get the colour to come out. The box ripped and corners were creased but it said 'twistable crayons' so I guess, that, then.

I wanted to do what Beth was doing though, she had two boxes with loads of little squares inside. One for the little beads separated by colour and the other separated by letter. Just as I sat next to Beth on the other side of the bed, she had just finished the bracelet she was making.
"Give me your wrist," Beth asked Mia in her gentle voice and tied in round Mia's wrist who's excited to have the colourful thing that was made especially for her.

"Frankie, do you want me to make you one?" Beth got a piece of string, ready to measure if I said yes. I really want one but I might not where it all the time because I don't really like things touching my skin that don't have to be there.

I nod well enthusiastically and then I got to pick what I wanted. All the normal, pretty colours from rainbow and then letters I choose were 'A' 'R' 'K' 'E' 'F' 'I' 'N'. In a different order, that spells Frankie, by the way.

I watch as Beth carefully threads the clear string through the yellow bead, I love yellow. Yellow is my favourite colour, all versions; neon, pastel, lemon, gold, blonde. Green next, it's an ok colour, then blue, blue is nice colour. I flap my hands excitedly as I see this all come together. Mia was colouring an animated dog with a basket of flowers in its mouth but she was colouring most out the lines.
