(A/N): I am SO sorry for taking so long to post this. I just didn't have the motivation, and on top of that, I had a lot of school work to do. Anyways, ENJOY THE STORY!!!
Ean notices that I stopped moving. I say nothing because of fear. I never thought of losing battery life. It was terrifying.
"Melody, you ok?" Ean asks carefully. I calm down, knowing that it's not that serious and I can still recharge.
"Ean, I need to charge," I say as calmly as I can at the moment my voice shaking slightly.
Ean grabs for my arm without a word and I yank it back. It was just a reflex after what happened 16 years ago. Ean looks at me with a hint of concern, but I let him look at my arm. He opens the hatch and grabs the extension cord that is wrapped up in there and rolls it out as far as he can. It isn't that long, so he pulls me to the nearest electrical outlet, but it's too late. I power off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few moments later, I wake up. I'm lying on the ground. Ean must have had to drag me to the outlet. I sit up, rubbing the back of my head. There's a dent. It's minor, but it's still a dent. I must have got it when I fell. I check my battery, and it's only at 2%. I look around the room, and Ean is at his desk with the computer.
He's watching a show, and I hear, "Miraculous Ladybug!" come from it. I was so confused as to what he was watching, but I was too tired to care. I laid back down on the ground and entered sleep mode.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I wake back up, I am at 100 percent, and Ean had left. I walk over to the computer, and the show he was watching is still on, it is just paused. I press play, and it resumes. It is about a girl named Marinette, who had a magical yoyo given to her by a ladybug fairy thing. The show is so confusing that I stop watching it and wait for Ean to return.
It wasn't until the next day until he returned. I stayed awake all night waiting for him just in case he returned. When I got to a low charge again, I just plug myself back into the wall. When Ean walks back into the room the next morning, I jump up and hug him.
"Ean! I missed you! You've been gone for forever!" I say excitedly. I notice how I react to seeing him after just meeting him the day before. I wonder if this is how I would have acted towards the kids at the daycare I would've been working at if I had never been decommissioned. The thought makes me feel upset, so I release Ean and try to bring up a conversation.
"Where were you last night?" I ask.
"I had to go home. I can't just live in my workshop," he answers shrugging his shoulders.
I am honestly hoping for a better answer, but I decide to drop the topic and ask," What ya wanna do today?"
Ean then starts to look a bit more cheerful as he replies. "I made arrangements, so you could come to my house and also meet my dad. I told him that I was bringing in a project I finished working on, so you're a surprise."
I feel so excited I might actually explode. I calm down slightly so I won't explode, and Ean shows me the way out of the workshop and leads me to his car. It's a small, old Honda Pilot but in pretty good condition. I realize that being 6'6", I couldn't fit, so I just crawl in and lay on all three of the back seats. Ean gets in the car and starts driving. In about 15 minutes, we make it to his house. Ean gets out of the car and opens to door for me so I can crawl back out and I stand up. We walk up the pathway that leads to the front door, and I notice how big the house is. I don't say anything, just excited to meet another person.
We get to the front door, and Ean turns to me. "I'm going to walk in, and come in when I say so, ok?" I nod my head enthusiastically.
Ean walks inside, and I hear a familiarly gruff voice, but I can't put my finger on who it is. I hear Ean call me in, and I open the door, ducking slightly as I make my way in. The front door leads into a living room with an expensive-looking sofa. On the sofa is Ean and-
I immediately stop in my tracks as I just stare at the person on the couch. I never learned his name when I first met him, but I can still recognize him. It was the man who built me with Avery.
