I saw this filter on tiktok about different book tropes, and so I wanted to try and write a only one bed book trope with Tim and Jay from Marble Hornets :D

Tim and Jay were driving to a motel for the night. They were on the run from The Operator but needed to stop somewhere for the night. Tim parked the car in the parking lot of the motel and got out, making his way into the reception. Jay followed, disliking how dodgy the place felt. Tim talked to the woman working at the reception desk, but there was only one room available. Tim took the keys and led Jay to their room.
The door opened with a creak, and they walked inside. When they saw the room, both noticed that there was only one bed in the room.
“I'll sleep on the couch,” Jay offered, “You were the one driving all day.”
“Alright, thanks Jay” Tim smiled as he went to the bathroom first.
Jay sat on the couch and stretched, waiting until it was his turn to freshen up in the bathroom. Tim eventually finished and let Jay in, walking over to the bed and sitting down on the mattress.
Jay showered, brushed his teeth, and did everything he needed to do before going back to his spot on the couch. There was an extra blanket, so Jay took it and laid down, pulling it over his cold body.
“Goodnight Jay” Tim said quietly as he turned over and shut his eyes.
“Night Tim” Jay smiled softly and shut his eyes too, attempting to fall asleep though it was hard to on the couch he was on.
Jay was sleeping fine until he woke up in a cold sweat, and his body was shaking. He had teared up from a nightmare. Jay's breathing was out of control as he tried not to have a panic attack. He tried to stay quiet but wasn't able to, and Tim woke up from all the noise.
“Jay?” He asked, rubbing his eyes, “Are you alright?”
Jay looked over to Tim and shook his head. Tim saw and patted the spot on the bed next to him, signalling for Jay to come over.
Jay shakily made his way over to Tim and sat down on the bed, curling his knees into him. Tim wrapped an arm around Jay and pulled him close.
“You're safe, Jay. I'm here.” Tim said softly as he rubbed Jay's back gently.
Jay buried his face into Tim's chest, making it wet with tears, but Tim didn't mind.
“Can I sleep here?" With you.?” Jay asked quietly.
“Of course you can” Tim put his hand on Jay's cheek and smiled at him reassuringly.
Tim laid down, and Jay lay pressed into him. Tim smiled and put his arms around Jay's waist to pull him in closer. Jay felt his cheeks heat up, and his mind was taken off the nightmare. He put his hands over Tim's and smiled, slowly shutting his eyes.
“Thank you, Tim,” Jay whispered.
Tim smiled in response and shut his eyes, too. Both drifted off to sleep eventually.
The next morning, when Jay woke up, he was completely snuggled up with Tim. His cheeks flushed red as he saw Tim's sleeping face right next to his. Jay just stared happily at Tim. Once Tim woke up, he saw how Jay was looking at him, making his own cheeks turn red.
“Oh- I'm so sorry, Tim I-” Jay started but was interrupted by Tim's chuckling.
“It's alright, Jay, it's alright.” Tim smiled, both staring into each other's eyes.
Jay was the first to lean in, and Tim soon followed, their lips meeting as they kissed softly. Tim put his hand on Jay's cheek as Jay's hand ran through Tim's hair. They finally pulled away to take a breath, smiling at one another.
“Wow, that was… amazing.” Jay let out a little embarrassed laugh.
“You're amazing Jay, I… love you.” Tim awaited Jay's response to what he had just said.
“I love you too, Tim!” Jay jumped onto Tim and wrapped his arms around Tim's shoulers.
They put their foreheads together and laughed, Jay now sitting on Tims chest. Jay held Tim's hands and smiled down at him.
“I'm not squashing you, right?” Jay asked with slight concern in his voice.
“No Jay! You're really light” Tim smiled.
Jay nodded and laid down on top of Tim, resting his head on Tims chest. Tim gently petted Jay's head and played with his hair.
“I love you, Tim,” Jay smiled lovingly.
“I love you too, Jay,” Tim smiled back.
