Run Devil Run II: Before The Dawn

Because I listen to my heartbeat, one by one…

It was the first thing I heard when I regained consciousness. My eyes travelled around my new environment.

I was in a large empty room. It was windowless and only one huge door stood rather handsomely on my far right. There was a booming stereo in the middle of the room, just a few steps away from me. Just where am I?

Because I listen to my heart, heart…

I panicked when I finally noticed that I am chained against the wall; both my hands are chained on my sides and heavier chains are wrapped around from my waist down to my feet.

Maybe this is just a dream! Yes! Just a dream! I closed my eyes, turned to a pair of deaf ears and focused to waking up, if I really am sleeping that is.

But just as I feared, when I open my eyes…I am still here.

I willed myself to calm down first and think about what’s happening. I tried to remember what happened before this. Where was I? Who was I with?

My eyes grew wide when I remembered everything. I was kidnapped! But how could he? He isn’t that type of person to do this. No. I don’t believe it.

Before the dawn

Before the dawn

My feelings aren’t obsession…

The deafening noise didn’t stop me from screaming out louder, “Help! Anyone! I’m hereeeee!!!!”

I kept screaming until my lungs hurt. I shouldn’t give up hope…even if I knew I didn’t have any chance. I have to at least do something…and crying and giving up aren’t anywhere near my list.

Finally, the door opened.

I want to grab you no matter what.

My jaw dropped and my heart beat faster when I saw my captor. It was him. It was really him. My query got confirmed.

“A-Alex!” I couldn’t stop myself from shaking.

Alex Lepton. My ex-boyfriend. But he really isn’t someone who can do this. He is the perfect gentleman…well, after this, he was.

He gazed at me impassively, “Hello, Jessica. How do you find your new home?”

“N-new home? Alex. Please. Don’t do this. Unchain me,” I tried to suppress the tears forming in my eyes.

“Don’t do what? I’m not doing anything wrong

“Let. Me. Go.” I said slowly and pleadingly.

“I think we have a misunderstanding, my dear Jess. You’re in my villa 90 miles away from the nearest inhabited village. I sent everyone away from here,” he approached me and tapped the tip of my nose, “Do you get it now?”

“What happened to you?! How could you do this?”

His emotionless smile came back, “I think it’s you who’s supposed to answer that. What happened to you? How could you do this, Jessica?”

I nervously shifted to my other side, “Wha-what do you mean?”

I felt a sting on my left cheek. He had never slapped me or anyone before. He can’t even hurt a fly.
