(Alex's POV)

Me and Matt walked down the streets of LA talking about the new album and our upcoming shows. We were on our way to the hair parlor. Matt suggested it to me saying it's the best parlor he's ever been to. I put out my cigarette before walking in. I scanned through the variety of options they had and chose one I liked. I felt like it was time to change my hair. I've had it the same for years but while we did our Humbug tour I kept it extra long and with the length it got difficult to manage. The barber first started with cutting off some chunks. The cut I asked for was some sorta of a rockabilly quiff. He cut the long hair and shaved a bit of my hair on the back. Then he gave me clear instructions on how to properly style it. After the cut I paid him and tipped, then me and Matt headed down to the shopping center. Also I need to buy some hair gel for my new style and a few combs.

For the two hours we were at the center only a few people came up to us for a photo or autograph. I'm guessing with my new hair people won't recognize me as easily as before. Only one person mentioned my hair. Since a lot of people won't see my new hair until our next show in Texas I wasn't expecting people to come up to me. I have to admit but at times when they come up to me I feel a bit awkward. After shopping we headed back to the hotel we were staying at so we could start packing up our things for the plane tomorrow to go back to Austin Texas.

Once we were back at the hotel. I immediately started packing my things. I dreaded being late to the airport. Especially with paparazzi getting in the way. I packed all my new clothes as well as taking off the tags as I folded them neatly so it would all fit in my suitcase. I looked around the room making sure I didn't leave anything behind. I cleaned up my mess and while cleaning it up I found a note. I've never noticed it before. I opened it and it was from Valerie.

I had a wonderful night with you. It was such a pleasure to meet you and get to know you. I am so sorry for having to leave. But it was very urgent. Thank you so much for the amazing time.
Valerie

As I read the note I was hoping she would have left her phone number. I would have called her. She's a pretty, funny and kind girl. But from how messy the writing looked she must have been in a rush and left quickly. I was a bit upset that she left so early in the morning. But I hope she got home safely and she's doing well now. I hope to meet her again someday.

The next day.

My alarm started blaring and I immediately shut it off. I looked at the clock and it was 4 am. I was never a morning person but ever since the band got popular we would have to wake up early to get on planes or go on the road to perform. I took a quick shower so I would smell decent on the plane. The Los Angeles heat made me sweaty and hot all the time. I can just imagine it's going to be worse in Texas.

Once I got out of the shower I got ready, doing my hair, putting on clothes and grabbing my suitcases, and one more walk around the room to make sure I didn't leave anything. Valerie's note still remained on the table. I put it in my pocket, keeping it for the memories. I walked down the hall to where their hotel rooms were. Jamie was already outside waiting for Nick and Matt. I knocked on both of their doors hoping for some kind of response. About 10 minutes later they finally came out and were ready too.

We went downstairs to the lobby and checked out. We waited for our ride to come pick up. Since it was early in the morning it was a bit cold outside. I enjoyed every bit of it, the constant heat was starting to irritate me. Our ride arrived 10 minutes later. We put our suitcases in the trunk and piled up in the back seats. Very soon we arrived at LAX and I paid the driver and we walked into the airport and quickly made it through check in and security. I preferred getting through them quickly so I could just relax at the gate and take a nap.

(2 hours later)

We finally got on the plane and we sat in the very back since we have business class seats. I always enjoyed these ones better since most likely no one will ask me for a photo or autograph. I liked it when people did but when i'm on a plane I rather keep to myself and relax for a while. Soon enough the plane was in the air. After the seatbelt signs went off a flight attendant walked around asking us what we would like to eat. I ordered a simple pasta with a glass of wine. The food was a bit dry but it was still edible. I started working on the setlist we're going to do at the shows we'll be doing in texas. I felt like Library pictures would be a good opener to start with. I wrote down the setlist making sure to take note that John Ashton would play with us during Pretty Visitors and 505. When I finished the setlist I relaxed in my chair and fell asleep for the rest of the trip.

We walked out the airport with flashing lights from all angles. The security guards we have were able to keep them away so we could get to our car. At this point I've gotten used to the flashing. Our ride arrived and we piled into the back seats. The driver took us to a hotel close to the venue we were going to perform at. Once he dropped us off I rushed into the lobby immediately because it was way too hot for my liking. We checked in and our rooms were on the top floor. Me and Matt shared one while Nick and Jamie shared the one next door. Once we were in our rooms I turned on the air conditioning and took off my jacket and threw it onto my bed. I looked through my bags to find something.
"Al this fell out of your jacket," Matt said.
