"My singing is not that bad!" Clare screamed as Chloe showed me the video of Clare singing her lungs out to her rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody."

Apparently, they had decided to go to Karaoke sushi last night and judging from the video, Clare's performance had the whole place in fits of laughter and applause.

"I'm sure you broke a few glasses," Chloe teased her sister.

"Eva, what do you think?"

"I think there's a reason I dance and not sing." I smiled meekly.

"Are you saying I suck!?" Clare asked, raising an eyebrow.

"She's saying the seals at the zoo sound better than you!" Michelle chimed in, earning a laugh from all of us.

The group had called me this morning. They were all having breakfast together after a night out and since I couldn't be there, they decided to facetime me and that was the best thing I could have asked for.

It felt so nice seeing my friends again, even if it was just through a screen.

"I think we might have to remove your succubus title, Clare, because with that voice, men would be fleeing rather than running towards you." I chuckled and Clare playfully threatened to hang up on me, before changing her mind to daring me to sing next time.

"So how are things going? Is Office Blackwell closer to finding your stalker or what?" Michelle asked.

"Yeah, tell that bitch we miss you!" Clare added between bites of a hash-brown Chloe handed her.

I sighed. "I think we're closer to figuring out what to do." Gods, so much had been unraveled in my time here that just thinking about it made me feel odd. Here were my friends, who suddenly felt a million miles away, living normal lives, while mine seemed to become this odd twisted thing.

"Well, tell him to hurry because if Clare's bodyguard doesn't lighten up, she might return him in a coffin." Chloe quipped on behalf of her sister.

That's right, I vaguely remembered a text I had received from the group shortly after arriving here. It was when I had fallen into a training routine with Eros and Aries. Apparently, the officers had been replaced by some of Eros and Aries's personal bodyguards.

"What? A man Clare doesn't like?" I gasped.

"He's beyond annoying." Clare said, her eyes narrowed with frustration as if she were looking right at him.

Actually, I had no doubt that he was nearby, given he was assigned to follow her everywhere they went. "You should have seen him the other night. He took 'overprotective' to a whole new level."

"What did he do?" I asked, curious.

Michelle chuckled mischievously. "Every time a man approached Clare on the dance floor, he removed them." She gestured with air quotes, telling me it was worse than what she let on.

Clare continued with a mixture of anger and disbelief. "He literally roughed them up, claiming it was for security reasons. And when I told him to back off before I kicked his ass, he actually encouraged me to do it!" Her eyes went wide, reflecting her irritation.

"I think they love each other." Chloe sighed dreamily.

"I love him about as much as cats love taking baths." Clare retorted, rolling her eyes.

"Anyways, enough about us. How are you doing?" Michelle redirected the conversation.

Uhhh, I really did not want to answer that question. It just felt like a loaded topic that I would rather avoid for now, "Other than having a psychotic stalker...everything is fine." Except for the fact that I got in car accident, almost got attacked by a creepy giant wolf, got saved by some large monster, apparently possess a gift that can kill me, Eros and Aries had admitted to stalking me for two years, oh and the reason I was in danger was because Eros believed I was his soulmate and now his old nemesis wanted revenge.
