In these last hazy days of summer a few simple tips to beat the heat. One, drink plenty of fluids. Two, stay out of the sun. Three, limit all physical activity. That is, within reason.
Viola kept her promise this time. She hasn't even looked at Cameron since the night of Blair's atrocious party, and she only had one more day of ignoring him until he was off at Yale far away from her. She did her best to keep busy, with senior year starting she attempted to write her college essay, she did some extreme shopping, and of course tried to see Blair and Serena as much as possible, but they were usually with Dan and Marcus. And Viola Bassoon does not third wheel. However, Blair invited her and Serena over and as she walked into the dinning area muffins and fruit laid about the table her two best friends chatting away who stopped hearing her footsteps the three girls giving large smiles, Viola quickly sitting down joining in on the conversation.
"Elenor comes home today, you excited she finally gets to meet Marcus?" Serena asked Blair Viola turning to her brunette best friend.
"And see why he's so wonderful? Its not often you find a man who's intelligent, sophisticated, has an appreciation for golden-age Hollywood, and is a gentleman to boot" Blair spoke easily aiming her 'wonderful man' against Dan. But, a new presence joined the girls, a black haired Waldorf standing at six three with a gorgeous smirk.
"I never knew you thought of me so highly Blair" He plucked a blueberry muffin from the table his eyes trying to catch Viola's, she wouldn't even look his way.
"I thought you would've been in the car by now leaving me and my friends alone"
"Please your friends love me, isn't that right Viola?" He finally got her to look at him but she only laughed.
"In your dreams Waldorf" Rolling her eyes she looked at Serena who gave her a questioning look before turning back to Blair, Cameron giving his sister a kiss on the cheek before Dorota announced his car was here and as he made his way to the elevator his beautiful brown eyes found Viola's blue and soon enough he was gone and the three girls returned to their conversation.
"Well it seems to be going well" Serena spoke of Blair's earlier statement.
"It is!" Blair's smile seemed as close to genuine as possible but Serena still seemed upset.
"Okay, and how are things between you and lonely boy?" Viola questioned the blonde with a small smile.
"Look B I know you don't approve of him" Serena ignored the girl who only huffed in annoyance shoving a strawberry in her mouth.
"True"
"And I know he's not the 22nd Lord of Westmoreland Shire"
"Also True"
"Why can't you support me, Viola seems to have no problem with it"
"He may not wear Ralph Lauren but Bloomingdales will do" Serena side eyed the girl before turning back to Blair.
"Have you two talked about everything? All of the very real reasons why you broke up last year?"
"Well not completely"
"Never mind I don't support this then" Viola spoke her eyes seemed glued to the door waiting for him to come back, but he didn't, and he wouldn't.
"Well when you do, and if you're still together, I'll be very happy for you both"
With that Serena walked out, Viola watching her leave and it seems their once perfect union had cracked once more. Blair sat on the phone with the Duchess before saying something about Vanessa then hanging up.
