Omari rushes out Elease's dorm furious & upset. While rushing out, he surprisingly catches Thaina.
"What were you doing in there?" Thaina asks him curiously & skeptical.
"Why don't you go ask ya' quote on quote friend. Maybe she'll tell you." Omari responds to Thaina, very aggressively.
"Excuse me? Are you tryna insinuate y'all—" Thaina questions loudly before he cuts her off.
"What the fuck? Nah—" Omari interrupts before he gets cut off.
"Nah. Fuck out of here ... ima have somebody for you to beat you the fuck up. I swear on everything don't speak to me or look me again, & just know my people finna' need that when they see you." Thaina says angrily with her voice shaking of anger.
Thaina, with a single-minded focus, makes her way back to Elease's dorm to retrieve her Chanel purse. The evening's tumultuous events had scattered her thoughts, but the need for her belongings pulls her back into the heart of the storm.
As she enters, Thaina cuts through the tension with a clarity of purpose, her eyes locked onto Elease. Without preamble, she states her intent, the atmosphere heavy with unspoken words and unresolved emotions.
"I'm just here for my purse," Thaina says, her voice steady and devoid of the warmth that might have once colored her interactions with Elease.
Elease, taken aback by Thaina's directness, scrambles for a response, her words tripping over the tension. "Uh, sure, it's... it's over there," she replies, gesturing awkwardly towards the purse.
Thaina moves to retrieve her purse, her actions efficient, a clear boundary set by her demeanor. She feels Elease's eyes on her, the weight of the unasked questions and untold stories pressing into the silence between them.
With her purse now in hand, Thaina turns to leave, but not before offering a parting shot, a final assertion of her stance amidst the night's chaos. "And Elease, let's not do this again. For your own sake," she says, her tone leaving no room for misinterpretation.
"What do you mean by that, Thaina?" Elease asks curiously & nervously as she's waiting for Thaina to exit the apartment.
"Bitch exactly what I said. Like I said don't speak to me or ima' park you. You get it now?" Thaina gets more in detail this time, sounding more intimidating.
Thaina leaves & the door slams shut super loud.
Outside, the cool air hits Thaina like a splash of clarity. She pulls out her phone and dials Diana, the need to share, to unload the night's burden pressing against her chest.
"Diana, you won't believe what just went down," Thaina begins, her voice a mix of frustration and disbelief, ready to unravel the evening's events and the complex web of emotions entangled within.
Thaina launches in, her voice sharp, her tone leaving no room for doubt about her next moves. "I catch Omari dipping out of Elease's spot, all furious and shit. Since when they even tight like that?"
"Omari? At Elease's?" Diana's voice is a mix of surprise and anticipation. "Hell nah. What you gonna do?"
"Ain't no bitch or no nigga think they're gonna play me for a fool. I got something for both they asses. Especially Omari," Thaina declares, her resolve steel, her mannerisms a testament to her toughness and refusal to be played.
Diana chuckles, co-signing her homegirls craziness. "His bitch ass. What you got for him tho girl? I say line that nigga up since Marcus couldn't get the job done when tryna shank the brother. No shade"
"I told him be prepared for the niggas who I got for him coming his way. Ain't finna do too much talking tho. Ion let nobody slide on some real shit. Then you doing sum' with my homegirl at that? Can't forgive him for that like that's a bad look forreal forreal. Thaina says to Diana on the phone, while taking out her keys as she has gotten to her car.
Diana cracks up, keeping the mood light. "Thaina, you straight up wildin' out here. Keep ya hands clean, bish. We need you out here stuntin', not stuck in some nonsense."
Thaina chuckles, easing up a bit with Diana's words. "You know the vibes, but I can't let them think I'm pussy. Feel me? I'm just trying to stay on my game. I'd rather look crazy than pussy."
"Period, keep it tight girly. But tell me, how's everything else good? How's everything else girl?" Diana teases, her voice filled with mischief.
"Girl, always. You know they bitches bunk & not on nothing. Everything else ight. I miss my family really, and I been a lil' lonely without them. But what about you? How's that side hustle going? Making that paper?" Thaina shifts the focus, keeping the conversation rolling.
"Honey, you know I'm out here grinding. Might turn this side gig into a full empire," Diana laughs, the sound rich and full of life. "And speaking of grinding, when are we gonna hit up that new club? I heard the niggas be fire."
"Anytime, girl. I need a night to let my hair down, shake something serious," Thaina responds with enthusiasm.
"Make sure you bring the vibes then sis. Last time, you had everybody watching," Diana says, her tone playful yet edged with a challenge.
"Girl, they always watching a bad bitch. Nun' new." Thaina replies confidently.
"And you better not be holding back. Bring all that heat," Diana eggs her on.
"For sure. And Diana, for real, love you so much for being here for me tonight. You the best. Bestie."
"Always, Tha. We ride together, we shine together. Can't nobody can touch that, on god & heaven."
Their laughter mixes over the phone, a shared moment of genuine connection amid the chaos, grounding Thaina as she prepares to move past the night's drama.
