The accident, my life is made of accidents

chapter 2

Jewel's pov
It was December 23rd when Sarah Goodwin came and adopted Jake, Daniel, Conner, Jasmine, and I. I was so freaked out that I blurted out "why did you adopt all of us." Then I realized what I said "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way."

Sarah said "it's ok; you want to know why I adopted all of you."

We all said "YES" waiting for her to reply back, wondering what she would say, or if she realized she made a mistake in taking all of us in.

She said "well, how do I put this...ok I am just going to say it, I used to be at that orphanage too." All of us look at her in shock and surprise.

I asked "why did you get all of us?"

Sarah then said "because I saw you all together one day, and I knew you were planning something, I drive by there every day on my way to work and back home, sadly. It brings back memories."

We were all quiet for the rest of the drive; until we arrived at the largest house we ever saw. I asked Sarah "Is this your house?"

She said "of course silly and the other reason why I got all of you with me. Is that this house, well it is too big for me." The house before us was five stories high and it had a basement. She let us walk around for a while and settle in. Since it is going to be are new home. Then she called us to dinner. The food and place was so great, we all said thanks.

Sarah took us to the 3rd floor and showed us to our rooms. Afterwards she said goodnight to us and hope we settle in easily.

We all went to my room and decided it was the meeting place. Jasmine passed out on my bed, before she could even get changed. So Daniel chose to be the one to carry her to her room. Then he came back into my room to say "good night;" then went to his room to go to bed.

Conner and Jake were glaring at each other sitting across my room. I got tired of it and said "stop doing that or you both leave my room now." Jake left the room and said "good night," but before he left he glared at Conner one last time. It was strange to me that Conner and I were alone. Conner got tired of the silence and said "good night" and went to his room.

I knew that he wasn't going to be able to sleep well tonight, I usually get feelings like that, but everyone else was asleep. Plus he is my best friend, and I knew how he hated new places, especially places that he doesn't trust. I got up and walked across the hall to his door.  Walked inside his room and sat next to him.

He asked why I was in there with him, I just shrugged.
