My name is Rio Everfield. I was one of the few survivors of an incident five years ago. I never wanted to relive that time...never. And here I am, being forced to relive it, just to save the one I love.
30 minutes prior
A thin, blue-haired man looks around, confused. How did I get here? All I remember was going to bed with Fray... He thinks in a panic. Suddenly, He hears it. A button being pressed. A voice comes over the intercom, "What's your name?" The voice asked rudely. He gazes into the darkness, "Why do you need to know that?! Where a-am I?!" he asks, attempting to keep his voice calm. "You're in a research facility, now answer the question." The voice said, sounding slightly angry.
"Why am I here and where's Fray?! What did you do to them?!" He yelled into the darkness. The person chuckled menacingly, "You're here because you were bitten and didn't turn. As for your darling Fray..." he could feel them smile evilly. "...They're fine. Answer my questions and you'll see them again." The man was conflicted, he didn't want to share his information with this mysterious person, but he had to make sure Fray was alright. "Fine...I'll answer your questions..." He reluctantly agreed, instantly feeling the evil grin from the mysterious person.
"Finally, Let's begin. Now once more...What is your name?" The person asks calmly.
"Rio Everfield..." Rio answers with caution.
"How old are you? And where were you born?" They respond.
"I'm 24...and I was born in Soset."
"Can you tell us aboutwhat happened five years ago?" Us? "I can but I don't remembermuch. And what do you mean, us?" They laugh manically. "Don't worryabout it and if you keep questioning us...your partner isn't going to look so prettyhere soon." A screen pops on. Rio looks up at it and covers his mouth,muffling a scream. On the screen was a white-haired person, Rio's partner. "Whathave you done to them?!" he could feel them smile again. "Why dear Rio...thesame as we've done to you. Why don't you take another look at the screen."He looks at the screen again but, instead of Fray, Rio sees himself, beaten andbloody. "Now tell us what happened or..." He hears fingers snap and seesFray reappear on the screen and someone starts hitting him. "Please don'thurt him! Please...I-I'll tell you..." Rio says defeatedly. They smile invictory. "Finally! One of you is smart enough to cooperate! Pleaseproceed." Rio sighs shakily and wipes the tears away, breathing deeply, he recounts the fateful day everything started.
