Evriah

"What?" Bored na tanong ko sakaniya.

"U-uh late ka na kasi hehe." The fuck?

I just sighed at tinanguan siya.

Thanks to her, i was actually having a nightmare.

I stretched my body a bit at tumayo na para gumayak.

I closed my eyes once the cold water touches my skin. This is all i need right now to calm myself, i guess.

I have long wavy red hair with a curtain bangs, my eyes are perfect color brown, and i have a long lashes also a pointy nose and kissable lips. I smirked.

Her name is Eumoiriety Vouganti, meaning a happiness due to purity and innocence. I shooked my head with that thought. Ako nga pala ang nagpangalan nito sakaniya.

"Oh, tapos ka na pala. By the way, good morning, Evriah!" Sigla ah.

"Yeah, good morning."

"Excited ka na ba?" Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. Pretending to forgot about it.

"Omyjolly! Have u forgotten? Today is the day! You'll be handling the case you've always wanted to open up, today sa court! Right?" She said to me na hindi makapaniwalang nakalimutan ko.

Crazy.

"Oh, yeah. I remember now."

"Better be!

Yes, i adopted her. I was only 14 years old back then. Hindi naman ako nahirapan na ampunin siya since i have a lot of connections. I don't know if matuturing na blessing ang pagiging matalino ko, but without this i wouldn't be able to be who i am right now and that's for sure. Even tho my parents is actually rich, hindi naman pwedeng umasa lang ako sa naiwan nila sa akin that's why i need to work for myself.

My parents died when i was 13 years old. Ang masaklap pa, i saw how they die with my own two damn eyes. Sure i didn't know what to do back then, how stupid. Pero ano ba naman kasing alam ng isang 13 years old?

Having this damn strong memory, how can i forget how they killed my parents mercilessly.

Umagang-umaga, halo-halong emosyon agad ang nararamdaman ko. I need to stop thinking and reminiscing their death, it's making me miserable.

I stood up already when i finished eating, kasunod ko namang tumayo Euri, agad niyang niligpit ang pinagkainan namin at dinala sa sink. Saglit niya itong hinugasan at inaya na akong umalis.

"Okay ka lang ba, Eve?" Without looking at here, i nodded.

"Use your car." I said and dumiretso sa kotse ko, i don't wanna give her a ride dahil after handling the case, may pupuntahan pakong importanteng lugar.

I saw her pout her lips and pumasok na lang din sa kotse niya, i started the engine and drove off and ganon din siya, magkasunod lang naman kami so i don't have to worry.

Euri is like a sister to me. Gaya nga ng sinabi ko, i was only 14 when i adopted her, back then she was only 10. I let her use my surname and give her a new name. Euri and the other three is important to me.

I stopped when i reached my destination, dali-dali namang bumaba si Euri sa kotse niya at nakangiti nanamang lumapit sakin.

This is a public trial, since i re-opened the case that has been happened 10 years ago. Wondering what case it is? My parents case.

"On thursday, January 9, 2003. The victims Enrique Vountanilla and Ashania Vountanilla was kiled Inside their house. Your honor, i would like to pay attention to exhibit 1."

Years ago this case happened to close anonymously, at nahirapan talaga akong humanap ng tyempo para buksan itong muli.

Napatingin ako kay Euri and she only give me a thumbs up, and she smiled. I divert my gaze and turned to the suspect which i clearly remember because he's the one who pulled the trigger, not once, not twice.

The man who stood up catches my attention. He started blabbering things to defend the suspect not until nabaliktad ang sitwasyon, i was shocked when he called me to the witness stand. Damn it, what was he thinking?

"Your honor, I'd like to call a witness. The victims daughter." Hell. I gave him wtf look and he just shrug off his shoulder. Ano bang pinaplano niya? Clearly because i change my surname.

I take the oath and he started asking.

"So, Miss Vountanilla or should I call, Prosecutor. Vouganti. Where were you when the incident happened?"

"My room."

"And what were you doing in your room?"

"I was reading a book, trying to finish my homework."

"Can you tell the court what you witnessed that night?"

"I heard gunshots, so I peeked out of my door to see what was happening. That's when I saw the suspect, the one sitting over there," I pointed to the accused, "holding a gun. And fired multiple gun shots at my parent."

The defense attorney raised an eyebrow but continued, "Miss Vountanilla, are you sure about what you saw?"

"Yes, Mister Attorney. I have a very good memory and i saw him clearly. He was wearing a distinctive jacket, and there was enough light for me to recognize him."

"Could there have been a possibility of mistaken identity?"

"No, there's no mistake. I know what I saw."

The defense attorney paused for a moment before asking, "Miss Vountanilla, were you alone in your room?"

"Yes, I was alone."

"Your honor, I request the court to consider that the witness was alone in her room and may have misinterpreted the situation due to fear or confusion."

I interjected, "Your honor, I understand the defense's concern, but I'm confident in what I witnessed. I saw the suspect clearly, and there's no doubt in my mind about his identity."

The cross-examination continued, with the defense attorney attempting to cast doubt on my testimony. As the trial progressed, it became clear that my testimony was a crucial piece of evidence in the case.

In the end, i won the case.

The trial maybe didn't go well according to my plan, but still thanks to this man. I won the case, and my parents has finally given their justice.
