Ratchet and Rivet

A week has passed since the two Lombaxes and the two little robots moved into their new home. It took some time to get used to everything. Ratchet is in the garage tinkering when Rivet enters. She seems very excited.

"Ratchet! Look!" she says with a wide smile on her face as she lends him a brochure.

Ratchet turns around as soon as she calls him. He lifts his welding goggles and looks at the brochure in confusion. "What is it?" he asks as he picks it up.

He sees an offer just today for a new weapon. 50% discount for a SN-1-P3-R. A sniper rifle that promises to be accurate even at distances of up to 3,000 meters (1.8 miles).

Ratchet's eyes widen. "Wait! Is it available? Since when? And... How the hell can they sell it for... This?!" he asks confused.

Rivet laughs. "I saw it! To celebrate the launch, few stores have this offer. Let's go!" she says and grabs his hand as she pulls him towards Aphelion. "Let's go!" she encourages him to move.

Ratchet, still confused, complies and sits in the pilot's seat. Rivet sits next to him as he starts the ship. They quickly head towards Megalopolis.

"Ohhh, I can't wait to try this one!" Rivet screams in pure excitement. Ever since Ratchet showed her the weapon, she was completely interested in it and, like him, couldn't wait for its release.

"It will be amazing." he says with a wide smile as he lands near the city center. Both Lombaxes quickly jump out of the ship and start running.

"I hope they still have one." Rivet says with a chuckle.

As they pass by the Museum, a sudden and loud noise makes them stop. Confused, they look around as another sound erupts and the ground shakes.

"What is that?" Rivet asks as she looks around.

"I don't know." Ratchet says, alarmed.

Suddenly, the wall next to them opens. Ratchet manages to hug Rivet and protect her from pieces of wall, injuring himself in the process when they both fall.

She looks at him in shock. "Are you well?!" she asks worriedly.

He grits his teeth with a painful little hiss. "I'm fine..." he says as he opens his eyes and looks at her. "And you?" he asks.

Rivet carefully caresses her right cheek. "I'm fine. Thank you..." she says softly before looking behind him.

As the dust settles, a robot appears inside the hole in the wall, holding a bag. It looks like a simple servicebot. His eyes glowed red with a white X in them. "I'm happy to help!" he just says he wants to run away with his stolen goods. A small crowd gathered around the place.

Rivet growls. She picks up a rock and throws it very hard at the robot. "Hey you! Where do you think you're going?! Hurt us, steal from us and you think you can get away with it?!" she shouts at him angrily.

The stone hits the robot in the back, leaving a mark. He turns and looks at Rivet. "I'm happy to help!" he says again as he slowly walks towards her.

"And I'm happy to kick your ass!" she responds as she picks up her hammer that she didn't have equipped. "Damn." she says.

Ratchet stands up and sighs a little. "What's wrong with this robot?" he asks. "He is just a simple servicebot. How did he manage to break through this wall?" he asks

The robot raises its left hand, which turns into a blaster, preparing a shot. "I'm happy to help!" he says.

Rivet seems a little annoyed with Ratchet. "You had to ask, right?" she says.
