Love, it was what everyone around Donna's age was looking for. it was the Trend, except for Donna, even tho everyone in her family had found love, she was yet to find love, for two reasons, One being that she was basically married to the ocean, spending a lot of her time perched on a rock or cliff reading by the ocean, the sounds of the waves crashing serenading her like a lullaby of a thousand years, and two being her brothers were so watchful she could never escape their gaze even if she wanted to, since they practically raised her, ever since mom died and dad left. they knew her character even more than she knew herself, it was a tight bond, but when she was doing stuff that included being in the gaze of strangers people would look at her like she was a goddess, but in the gaze was a hint of fear, all because she was a Shelby. so when she got a love letter it was confusing, even for John, the brother Donna was Closest to, it was a rainy day when she got it, 5 days before she turned 15, she was walking around the house bored due to her brothers being busy with business when she saw that the mail had came and was placed delicately on the table, her having a curious nature she decided to peak at them, picking them up and flipping through the mail, when she stopped, confused, there was a letter addressed to her, but it didn't say from who, confused and inquisitive the decided to open it, scanning the fine print it seemed to be addressed like a love letter, she cocked an eyebrow, and re-read it, sure she misread it, but it said the same

'dear Donna, it seems I've been struck with cupids arrow, and been enchanted by your beauty and ways, iv'e been unable to sleep due to my deep affection for you, that is deeper than the ocean itself. I cannot contain my love and must confess that iv'e been falling for you since forever, and has plagued me so deeply I cannot spend a minute without thinking of your beautiful face and charms. it has driven me close to insanity, but then the thought of you glancing my direction resurrects my mental stability like the resurrection of Christ, for I cannot go on with this secret, I could not keep it in longer, I hope you shall find me some day and reciprocate my affection, with my deepest love, your admirer.'

"huh, that's new" she said to herself a bit shocked that shes gotten an actual love letter, for the first time, it was, new to her, to say the least, but deep down her heart did flutter, tho she'd never admit it out loud, she'd rather die. but in the back of her mind, she hoped to God who she though it was, Ramona Lyons, the perfect girl. from the root of her head to the souls of her feet, she was perfect, it was upmost yearning Donna. her hair being a beautiful Afro crafted directly by Aphrodite's fingers, a creamy chocolate tone of skin like porcelain that she yearned to caress, stunning mahogany eyes that could melt the strongest men at a single glance, she hoped to God that she was sapphic like her. so she could finally embrace her beautiful figure in her arms, she could treat her better than a thousand gentlemen combined, she'd treat her like a goddess, worship her. she was in love, but she could never say that out loud, due to the circumstances, but she always thought it, but she was snapped out of a trance due to her brother, Tommy walking into the room,

"oh, Donna, there you are." he said in a stoic voice looking at her softly "can you look after Karl? I have some stuff........ to do" he adds requesting that from her

"of course, but cant aunt Polly do it?" she accepts, but asks the question she'd usually ask

"cant, shes at church, and me and the others have business" he replies leaning against the door frame and crossing his arms

"fine, I'll do it" she reluctantly agrees nodding and putting the letter back into its parcel

"what's that?" he questions, nodding towards the letter slightly, glancing at it then back at her

"oh, this? its nothing, just a letter" she replies, reassuring him

"well you never get letters, so it must be important" he counters, walking towards her and attempts to grab it

"don't, its mine" she says pulling her arm back so he cant reach it

"is it that important you have to hide it from your brother?" he questions.

"no.... but it was addressed to me, not you" she retorts, looking at him

"fine, well, anyways, I need to go do that business, i'll be back tonight, alright?" he says looking at her

"okay, be safe" she says nodding

"love ya" he says, ruffling her hair a bit before walking outside

"love you too" she says to him as he walks away

she looks back at the letter, still pondering her decisions, when she notices something, the 'r' at the end has a little swoop, just like Ramona's. oh God, now shes really stuck on what to do, a maroon blood rushes to her cheeks, she looks at the ground and coughs a bit akwardly, before putting the letter back in the envelope and walking to her room, to store it somewhere it wont be found, so she can fight the feeling, of loving a woman.
