Dazai's POV:

"Where were you yesterday?"

Mori asked in the middle of dinner. Mori was Dazai's father, only it didn't feel like it. He didn't wanna be associated with such a person, let alone related.

"Does it really matter? I told you I'd be back at a certain time AND on time, so why are you bothering me?"

Dazai says, with an annoyed look on his face.

"You're my son, of course I wanna know where you are. Every parent needs to know where their kid is at all times! You're such a brat at times, I just wanna keep you safe, you know?"

Mori says, sighing with Dazai's resistance. He gives mori an annoyed glare, It's not any of his business where he was. Mori needs to mind his business. It's not like he actually cares about him. All Mori cares about is Elise. He gives Elise EVERYTHING, no matter what it is. It's because he's stupidly rich for being a terrible person. People say he hates Mori for no reason. But they don't know what Mori did.

(Flash Back)

Dazai watched Mori and his Mom argue. He doesn't know what's happening. He doesn't understand what's happening. He stares at his Mom and Dad wondering what he could've possibly had happened now. He doesn't understand, he just doesn't. And it's not because it's "adult business" But because he just doesn't understand people in general. Why do they fight if they "love" each other. It doesn't make sense one bit. It just doesn't.. And all this is so childish.

Aren't I suppose to be the kid, the one yelling and screaming, the one crying over nothing, the one pouting, the one stomping his feet. All this screaming between his parents make his ears ring, make his skin itch. It feels like his skin isn't even,  like he wants to tear it all off. Just rip it to pieces, claw it, tear it, he just wants it all off. His nails dig into his arm, his eyes shut tight and tears prickling his eyes. He hates this.. He hates his family. Elise is so clueless, gawking at the two. But Dazai knows what's happening. He doesn't know what to know but he knows anyway. Oh to be clueless like Elise, to be 5 and young.

He closes his eyes, hoping he can just disappear out of this cruel world. But that all ends when hears shattering. A bottle of alcohol shattered onto the already turned on stove. Fire bursted into the air, going from the stove up to the ceiling. Almost instantly filling the house up with unbearable smoke. Dazai was yanked by his mom, she was trying to lead him out the front door. But Mori then grabbed his other arm, and yanked him towards the backdoor. Dazai was confused, he didn't know where to go. With his mom, or his dad? He didn't wanna be with either of them. They both messed up things with Dazai specifically.

He was getting yanked around, left and right. But then something happened.. Something happened that Dazai can't seem to ever get out of his head. Mori.. pushed her into the kitchen. The main area where the fire was, and dragged Dazai out the house. Dazai begged him to stop, and begged him to go back for mom. But it was too late. By the time he was dragged out, the house started to collapse. There was no way he could go back in there without dying. He couldn't do anything but watch as the house burned down.. Knowing somewhere In there… his mom was being burned alive. And his dad got away with it..

(End of flashback)

He slammed his hands against the table, being fed up with this stupid democracy. Because at the end of the day, Mori always gets what he wants. And it just isn't fair. He can't even talk to his dad about the red headed boy he saw earlier today.. Because his dad will be upset that Chuuya is a mage. And "mAgEs AnD hUmAnS dOn'T gEt AlOnG" and all that extra non important stuff. He doesn't care nor discriminate. He understands why mages do what they do. He understands why monster slayers do what they want. But why does it have to be a war? Why does it have to cause so much conservatory? Why can't each person just have their own opinion? Why does it matter? At the end of the day they're all people and it shouldn't matter. But that's children's wishes.. There's no possible way for humans nor mages to come to agreement. That's like wishing for peace in the world, peace between war.

"I'm going to my room. I wasn't even hungry in the first place. And for goodness sake, actually learn how to cook. Mom knew how to cook way better than you ever could. Even though she BURNED the food."

He spat those words and left the table with an annoyed glare. He stormed up the stairs to his room, ignoring his dad yelling at him to get back downstairs. He didn't care about what he said, or Elise said, what his mom said, he didn't just care in general. He can only get relief from killing those stupid monsters.. Even then, a tiny bit of guilt  into his bones.

He slammed the door behind him and laid on his bed. He felt tired, too tired to even get up and do anything in life; he glances at the frame of his mom, himself, dad, and elise. It's stupid, you can see everyone's fake smile. Elise is smiling all because she gets a doll after that picture, his dad smiling but it's so obviously fake, his mom smiled.. It's creepily fake.. Like it was engraved into her face. That's no real smile.. And Dazai didn't even bother to smile in the picture either. He never was happy in this stupid family. He sighs and lays in bed, looking up at his wall. His mind wandered back to that red headed mage he saw earlier.. He was cute. An annoying, short, short temper, weird but cute brat. His cheeks got all rosey at the thought of him. There is no way he's having a crush on this short mage. There's no way he's even thinking about him after this whole argument! He wants to pass away at the thought of liking Chuuya. But it's probably just teenage hormones. Afterall, both of them are boys AND neither of them are on the same side. They both have different perspectives on what the world should do with monsters. Still.. He can't help but wonder what I'd be like to be with..him. Or being with a mage in general.
