Absaar comes out of a giant building with a suit on. He looks to his side and sees CJ, Sofia, and the others. They see dread upon his face as he walks up to them.
CJ:What is it?
Absaar:Well, the good news is, he said that you can go.
Sofia and CJ look at each other with uncertainty.
CJ & Sofia:He did?
Guardians:He did?
Absaar:He did. There's bad news though.
Sofia:What is it?
Absaar:You can walk, but it won't be like you planned.
CJ:What do you mean?
Sofia:Why not?
Absaar:Well, you won't be hand in hand... You won't be arm in arm, side by side, and all of that. He said you have to walk in front, and she has to walk in back.
CJ:Why?
Absaar:And if you turn around to make sure she's coming too.. then she goes back to Voidstown and ain't nothing you can do.
Sofia:But why?
Absaar:Why build walls, make folks walk single file? Divide and conquer's what it's called.
CJ:It's a trap.
Absaar:It's a trial. Do you trust each other? Do you trust yourselves?
The two lovers look at each other.
CJ & Sofia:We do.
Absaar looks at CJ.
Absaar:Well, listen, brother. If you want to walk out of hell...You're gonna have to prove it before Gods AND Men...Can you do that?
Sofia & CJ:We can.
Absaar:A'ight, time to go!
CJ:Mr. Absaar?
Absaar:Yes?
CJ:It's not a trick?
Absaar:No, it's a test.
Absaar walks closer to the boy.
Absaar:The meanest dog you'll ever meet. He ain't the hound dog in the street. He bares some teeth and tears some skin. But brother, that's the worst of him. The dog you really got to dread is the one that howls inside your head. It's him whose howling drives men mad and a mind to its undoing.
Sofia and CJ hug for what might've been the last time.
Sofia & CJ:🎶Wait for me, I'm comin'. Wait, I'm comin' with you. Wait for me, I'm comin' too. I'm comin' too.
CJ turns around and starts walking. The other Guardians stand behind Sofia.
Guardians:🎶Show her the way so we can see. Show her the way the world could be. If you can do it, so can she. If she can do it, so can we.
Lexi:🎶Show the way!
Guardians:🎶Show her the way the world could be. Show her the way so we believe. We will follow where you lead. We will follow if you.. Show her the way.
A figure of pure darkness come out and Marlen walks over to it.
Marlen:Think they'll make it?
Death:I don't know.
Marlen:Death, you let them go.
Death:I let them try.
Marlen:And how 'bout you and I? Are we gonna try again?
