Chapter 9

(Athena's outfit to meet Nick is in the media)

Athena's POV
I was walking to the park where I was to meet Nick and I was nervous. I mean yeah we talked on the phone once and a while but we've never really hung out in person, unless you count the time he walked me to school.

I arrive at the entrance of the park and see Nick sitting on a bench at the basketball court.

"Hey," I said while walking towards him

"Hey Hermosa" he replies

Why does he always have to do that, now I'm blushing?

We started talking about random things. We talked about our favorite food, colors, and sport which of course was basketball. Then we decided to talk about our childhood.

He told me how his hometown was and he told me how he and his cousins would play basketball together with just a bucket and a tree.

"Okay I told you about my childhood and why I got into basketball, now you tell me about yours"

"Okay...Um when I was younger my mom left me and my dad and I didn't know if I would ever get over it, But one day my dad brought me to my first WNBA game and I was just mesmerized. My dad realized and put me in peewee basketball and let me tell you, I was the MVP of that team ok?"

I said while I laughed "But yeah that's how I got into basketball"

"Well since you say your "MVP," I think that you need a challenge since I am #1 in the DMV," He says while smiling

"Oh really, okay then but just to let you I am also #1 on the DMV," I say Tauntingly

"Ok let's go," he says

I smile and walk over to half-court.
He checks me up and I start dribbling down the court while Nick is guarding me, I take a step back and shoot a 3-pointer and say "OOH that must hurt huh?"

We kept playing for the next 5 minutes and at that moment we were tied. I was about to do a layup but all of a sudden Nick grabbed me by the waist and pulled me back.

Me and him were laughing, I turned around and looked him in his eyes and smiled.

His eyes look at my lips then back to my eyes and I just know what to do. We both start to lean in and I can't help but think things that I shouldn't be.

Soon enough our lips touch and I think I heard fireworks but I just think in my imagination.

Little did me and Nick know we had eyes on us.
