Third POV.

Disclaimer: This is a past memory that resides in Shuichi's being. There will also be transitions from memories and/or dreams back into reality. You just need to find the transitioning point.

Shuichi was sitting at his desk reading when he heard someone yelling his name. The boy looked to the side to find his best friend, Kaito, telling him to hurry to the cafeteria. The lunch wasn't great, it was mediocre, but Kaito had just wanted to speak to Shuichi for the short time they had left in lunch.

They went to separate classes, and hung out with separate people. They were just.. Different from each other. And that's okay. But sometimes, it's a struggle for the two of them.

Shuichi isn't very athletic, or into sports at all, really. He sits in his room reading a book or two. While Kaito is the complete opposite, his grades are dropping, he hates reading, and he's somehow always going out somewhere.

And that's why they grew apart.

Shuichi's POV.

I sigh to myself, I never really had friends that stayed that long. Like for example, Kaito. He's what I consider a plastic spoon. We never really bonded over anything, nor spoke at all, really. It was just me helping him with exams and stuff, and he considered that friendship. But we grew apart and became different people.

Plastic spoons aren't valuable to me, when you lose them, you can always get another one. Plastic spoons also come in packs with forks and knives... right?
