Chapter 2 new beginnings

Her Sapphire Blue eyes gazed into my mine as I quickly stood up longing for her soft hands her breath blew onto my face as I wisp of her rose perfume entered my nostrils she carefully moved her brown hair as her beautiful sapphire eyes blinked as her beautiful freckles on her face stood out . Her beautiful voice was like music to my ears soft and elegant with the right tone not too loud but not too quiet her body was warm and welcoming wanting to be friendly .
" are you ok "
She asked softly in a neutral kind of tone
" yes I am" I whispered embarrassed by my accident seconds into my arrival at my new school .
" I am Evelyn by the way who are you ?"
I am Lola i just joined this morning "
Awwww how lovely I did not know that a pretty girl would join today maybe that is what my stars were trying to tell me yesterday "
She spoke nervously worried about my judgement .
" I love stars although mine haven't been very lucky lately "
" maybe that will change"
She spoke sweetly as she reached over for my timetable.
" would you like help with getting to your first class it can be scary I remember when I joined last year "
" Yes of course if that is not too much trouble "
" Of course not Lola that is what friends our for and as we are friends now and besides we have all of the same classes "
As I quietly followed her footsteps as she paced them quickly on the ground her arm on my shoulder as we pass a group of aggressive boys and some girls on very short skirts who threw balls at us as Evelyn used her body for protection of me as the ball bounced of her backpack and into the distance as we walked through the achingly long corridors .

When we arrived at Mrs Meadows classroom a cold chill crawled up my chest I did not have a science book we forgot to buy some yesterday as my mother was more interested in her new Arthur to worry about me and told me to fuck off when I asked politely if we could go and get one . My father lived in a new state struggling to grief for my sister who had died two mornings ago . As I stumbled to my seat unsure of where I should sit fearful that Mrs Meadows might get angry at me on my first day.

She quickly walked up from her desk towards me her boots clinking as she walked
" you must be Lola "
"Yes I am Lola "
It's very lovely to meet you Lola I'm sure you will shine in my class I know you have high scientific abilities I will love teaching you I know this is your first day so do not worry if you don't have a science book yet just take your time I know it can be scary I know lovely Evelyn will take good care of you she is a lovely girl you can sit together if you want ?"
" Yes please Mrs Meadows "
Evelyn came gracefully as she sat beside I could feel her breath tingling on my neck as she bent down to grab her pencil case her necklace brushing on my shirt as she sat up . The beautiful sunlight after the torrential rain shined through the open windows as the smell of her perfume came making me feel relaxed and safe .
Mrs meadows quietly sat back at her desk hurriedly handing out worksheets on the desks waiting for the other arrivals of her lesson. As she left the room to the printer Evelyn passed me a note her writing swirled beautiful on the page making me memorised at her quality of writing asking if I would like to be her friend as I seemed nice my heart fluttered as I tried to write on the end of the paper my writing no where as near as hers. Her white teeth glistened in the light as she smiled at me like she really wanted to be my friend .

I couldn't believe my luck I was only twenty minutes in and already I had one friend and she was so similar to me in many ways her beauty was breath taking as she write the date and title elegantly in the white crisp book she had. Mrs Meadows briskly walked in with a new science book for me as I quietly thanked her for her trouble as I opened the new book and wrote in it as neatly as possible which was difficult with Evelyn next to me.

As soon as I finished writing in the science book the bell rang loudly startling me as hundreds of noisy children scattered the stairs up to their various classrooms more children walked pass the classroom but none entered all waiting outside until Mrs Meadows walked outside barking at them to get in the room this instant or she will get very mad and as a top set science class they should know better . Before I know lots of children were hurriedly walking to their seats scrapping the legs of the chairs as they scanned their name on their white board for their places as they chucked their new science books onto the desks chattering loudly to each other as they wrote.
The second bell ran hoarsely minutes later declaring the start of lessons where there was a deafening silence as Mrs Meadows called the register as children chattered through out infuriating Mrs Meadows
Lola Baker she called as I raised my hand . Later one she announced Evelyn green as she spoke here with her beautiful sweet voice making me feel flustered all over her eyes looked into mine as she picked up the pen I dropped when I startled at the bell our hands touched our fingers brushed against each other I was looking forward to break time but felt nervous all of the same Evelyn green was a breath taker.
