A young adult was lying on her bed, facing her ceiling, trying to ignore the weird presence in her room. Recently, they have been coming to her more frequently. It bothers her, how she is the only one able to see them, feel them. From the corner of her eyes, she could see him. He is standing still looking at her, hoping to catch her looking at him.
"Can you see me ?" the strange presence asks.
Jena rolls in her bed, showing her back to the speaker. She hears him walking towards her before, suddenly, she feels something cold going through her exposed shoulder. The black-haired woman sighs.
"I heard you can see us"
She rolls again in her bed, this time, she is sitting on her bed, facing him. Her pitch-black eyes directly looking at his translucid blue eyes.
"Please leave me alone" she quietly says.
The other person is shocked that the young lady in front of him can see him, he thinks her ability was just a rumour.
"Please tell my son I love him" he begs her.
"No... go away" She lays back in her bed, closing her eyes, all she wanted was peace.
She hated her ability, she hated the fact that she could see them. Grandma told her it was a blessing, going from generation to generation. She prefers to describe it as a curse. Because, how can it be a gift to see ghosts? How can seeing dead people do any good?
Grandma once told her that the family are the guide to the afterlife for the lost souls, and how they shall help them find peace. But right now, all Jena wanted to do was sleep and not find a random kid.
"But my son will be leaving with his mom to another country, I will not be able to see him !"
One thing a ghost cannot do is leave the place where it dies. At least, until a certain distance. She often thought of moving out and living in a reclusive place where she would not meet dead people.
"Fine... give me your address, I will send a letter..." She leaves her bed to sit at her desk, grabbing paper and a pen.
The ghost quickly tells her what he wants her to write and watches her happily as she puts in all the details he asks her. When finished, she asks him the date of his death.
"3rd of December 2023" He looks at her dubitably.
She nods before writing on top of the letter: 1/12/23.
"Here we go, now give me your address so I can send it"
She puts the letter in an envelope, she writes his name and home.
"Thank you very much" He is happy his son is going to receive his words. "I don't know why, but I feel the need to give you something" He states uncertainly.
He raises his hand towards her before dropping a small black pen.
"It was the first present my son gave me, please keep it"
Jena takes the object and watches as the man, called Tom. Soon, he begins to be covered by a white aura and slowly disappears.
The woman sighs before looking at the pen in her hands. She stands from her chair before walking a small bookshelf and between other objects, she puts the pen. She takes a few steps back to look at all the objects. All are gifts from the spirits she helped, they represent their last footprint on the earth, before they found their eternal peace.

Jena was walking in the corridor of the hospital her grandmother was in. She was a little late for her usual visit as she had to drop a letter at the post office.
