Never meant Forever

CHAPTER SIX

Present

"You're looking great" I said to Luna, she was wearing a green mermaid one-shoulder dress and had put her hair in a bun.

"I always look great, joking, you're also looking pretty."she said grabbing her handbag. I was wearing a white satin maxi-mermaid dress which I had borrowed from Luna and I had also put my hair in a bun and a little makeup that was necessary.

"So, let's go!" Luna said. I nodded, I had come to Luna's house to get ready with her so we could go together in my car to the party "aww my baby will be alone at home."Luna said to Furrball (her puppy). I was scrathing on his head as he was leaning against my leg. He walked towards his royal bed which was beside Luna's bed and he sat there. I and luna both smiled and said good-bye to Furrball and walked out of her home. She lives alone in New Orleans she had moved here from her home-town in Jacksonville, Florida for her graduation and then she got a job here and bought a home, but her parents and two brothers still live in Jacksonville. Luna video-calls them regularly and on vacations and holidays she always go there. As I sat on driver's seat and she sat on passengers seat I realized that "actually you haven't told me the location of venue" I told Iuna. "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, but one sec." she pulled out her phone which I guessed to see the venue on the invitation "yeah, it's in Frelim Palace" she said confirming and I kept my face straight trying not to show the reaction on my face. "o-okay" the rest of the ride I kept quite, Luna's attempt at conversation failed. "here we go" I said as I pressed my foot on the brakes. We got out of the car and walked towards the grand entry of the palace I so much remembered.

"Oh my two other halves are here" said Charlie excusing an old man he was talking to and making his way towards me and Ben. He was wearing a grey tuxedo with a bow

"you looking gorgeous, Audrey" said Charlie brightly "thanks" I replied "shall we meet your parents, Charlie? we want to congratulate them" said Ben looking around the palace. It was the most luxirious, lavishing and glamorous palace I've ever seen (not that I've seen many palaces). It was beautifully decorated and all people were dressed in ravishing gowns and tuxedo's and waiters were serving drinks and their was a very slow-music going on behind with the murmur of people's conversation and laughter "sure" said Charlie to Ben. We walked towards Charlie's parents, they seemed to be talking to a other couple but when they saw Charlie reaching them with us they excused the guests and said "oh, finally you're here where were you? we were searching for you, actually Mr. Steve wanted to meet you." "Oh, Dad I know he wanted to talk to me that's why I was hiding here and there. God forbid, if he saw me he'll talk about his stupid golf game he has in his backyard, I don't know why he does that everytime I meet him, do I look like I'm a die-heart fan of golf?" Charlie said. "yeah, did nobody told you that? here you go- Charlie you look like you're a die-heart fan of golf." Ben shrugged. Before Charlie could gave a sarcastic reply to that, I said "Congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Harper on your 20th anniversary!" handing them the small gift I've brought for them it was a little snow globe show-piece and two couple were dancing in that. Ben smiled (my favourite smile) and said "here's to one more year and forever to go" handing them the flower-bouquet he had brought for them, that reminded me of the rose I had put in his pocket, I only did that because I can't hold that in my hand for the entire party nor I could've leave that in the car so I thought to do that. I glanced at Ben who was standing beside me and saw that he was already looking at me I immediately looked away. "thank you so much both of you!. By the way, you're looking beautiful, Audrey." said Mrs. Harper smiling. "Oh, thank you" I said shyly. "I hope you're fine Ben, Charlie told me that you were sick" said Mr. Harper,concern in his voice. "Oh, that was long time ago I'm completely fine now" Ben responded. "Now I think is the time for dance, right honey?" said Mrs. Harper looking at her husband "yeah yeah, let's go" Chuckled Mr. Harper. They both walked towards the stairs and stepped on the third last stair and clinged spoon on the glass they were holding to grab the guests attention. Mr. Harper cleared his throat and said "thank you all for joining our anniversary celebration for the tweentieth time but at a different venue again this year" everybody quietly laughed at this and Mr. Harper went on "Happiest anniversary to my beautiful wife who has supported me through my life and carrier and to give birth to the most awesome son-Charlie, ha-ha just joking on the Charlie part." "Dad!-" "-oh, so let's dance." Quickly said Mr. Harper before Charlie could say anything. Lights went dim and music a little louder than before and the couple stepped into the centre of the hall and both start dancing. They danced for a while and then other couples started to join them on the dance floor and everyone started dancing with their partner.

"Would you like to dance?" asked Ben who was standing beside me "umm..I don't know how to do that" I replied because I literally don't know how to dance and I don't want to make a fool of myself by tripping on my gown or anything atleast, that was what I was telling myself because I really couldn't believe Ben has asked me for a dance. "Oh, come on, I'll teach you" he said and held out his hand that I could never turn down and so I accepted it and placed my hand on his hand.
