I was walking to Carter's house to pick her up like every morning we walked to school together. When I reached the tall white House I stood at the doorstep waiting for Carter to burst through the doors. Then suddenly from inside I heard yelling and then a loud thud. I stood there just listening to the blank silence for a few seconds, when Carter burst through the doors, obviously sad. "Are you Ok" I asked her. But she kept on walking. I assumed she didn't want to talk about it, I knew she had family problems. So I just left it at that.

Something had changed that day, I did not know what exactly though. And then it happened. The thought to be unbreakable friendship fell apart. Carter and I started to drift apart. Until one day we were like complete strangers. She moved on from me quickly, but I took it horribly. I don't know why it was so hard for me to move on. I think I thought that she would eventually come back to me. After a year though I gave up, I had lost all hope. Then three years later, my miracle happened.
